Ariya: READ EACH PHOTO'S CAPTION
In my years of practice in construction, I often hear this word throughout the construction process, from the design up to the actual turn key of the project. This is more frequent in residential projects.
But what are these “Ariyas”?
These are practices or traditions observed during the construction process. Mostly handed over by word of mouth from the elderlies. Some of which we are very familiar with and others even resembling the practice of Feng Shui. Filipinos believe that practice, or not practice thereof, may bring luck or bad luck to the home owners, during the construction and even the whole tenure of their stay in the house. Which usually is for the rest of their lives for most Filipino families.
So, we made a list of the more common Ariyas we heard of. Hoping that this would enlighten homeowners and guide home builders in the process. Though as for any other superstitious beliefs, it is not a MUST FOLLOW, but as our elderlies say. There is no harm in following them.
Again, these are not our own practices but those that some of our clients requested.
