The January 2026 Architect Licensure Exam (ALE) sets a new benchmark with a record-breaking 82.09% national passing rate — the highest ever documented in modern times.

A total of 1,998 out of 2,434 examinees passed, the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) announced on Tuesday, January 27.

For perspective, the January 2025 ALE posted 58.71%, while most previous years hovered between 54% to 65%.

The main purposes of the slump test are:
1. To check workability of fresh concrete.
2. To ensure uniformity and consistency of concrete batches.
3. To control water content in the mix.
4. To detect improper mixing or segregation.
5. To verify suitability of concrete for specific construction work such as beams, slabs, or columns.

The slump test is popular because it is quick, economical, and easy to perform on site, making it an essential quality control test in concrete construction.
