As a Civil Engineer and part of Academe, with all honesty, I think this is a rage bait post.

Siguro kung itong post na 'to ay 10+ years ago (2015 backwards), baka maintindihan ko pa. Pero ngayong 2026? I think this is a very alarming (and insulting) post. Hindi ba ito pinag isipan? Imagine halos mamatay na tao sa gutom at magwala na sa taas ng presyo ng langis (yields to pagtaas ng pamasahe), pagkain, hospitalization, medication at iba pang basic commodities and needs tapos o-offeran ka ng 15K per month na may sandamakmak na requirements?

Please my fellow Civil Engineers. Ipaglaban naman natin yung karapatan ng mga kabaro natin. Yung mga nasa circle of power and influence, use what you have para naman hindi umabot sa ganito. Tayong mga naunang Engineers ang tumayo para sa mga kakapasok lang sa profession natin. We know better through our experience. Huwag natin ipagkait sa kanila yun.

Remember that we Civil Engineers are one generation away from extinction. Kapag hindi natin tinulungan yung mga susunod saten, we are done. Let's have this "next generation" mindset. Maniwala tayo that the next generation of Civil Engineers can do something and for sure can do better than us, the previous generation.

Huwag natin hawakan masyado yung idea na nauna tayo at mas magaling tayo. We have our own skill set and meron din sila. Let them bloom as Civil Engineers.

Last: kapag may ganitong hiring, huwag nyo applyan. For sure magtataka yung HR level ng government agency na 'to then they will calibrate or will adjust depending upon the demands of the work required.
