The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) presented its proposal for the construction of the fourth bridge connecting Mandaue and Lapu-Lapu City, expected to begin this year with support from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA). The new bridge, along with the coastal road, will provide an alternative route for motorists traveling via E.C. Ouano Wharf to Zuelig Road, as well as from the Lapu-Lapu flyover to Mandaue City, helping to ease traffic congestion and improve connectivity.

Mayor Thadeo “Jonkie” Ouano and city councilors praised the proposal and its new alignment, noting its potential to enhance mobility and support economic activity. Plans also include expanding the project to link the tri-cities of Mandaue, Lapu-Lapu, and Cebu City, further improving traffic flow. The DPWH presentation was attended by key city officials, including City Administrator Atty. Sally Malig-on Jr. and heads of the City Planning and Housing Offices.

🌘✨ A Rare Eclipse Era Has Begun!

Starting Feb 17, we enter an extraordinary three-year stretch featuring six major solar eclipses — three dramatic Annular “Ring of Fire” eclipses and three breathtaking Total Solar Eclipses.

An annular eclipse happens when the Moon is slightly farther from Earth, leaving a glowing ring of sunlight around it.

A total solar eclipse, on the other hand, completely blocks the Sun, briefly turning day into twilight along its path.

Some of these upcoming eclipses will cross parts of Europe, Africa, the Arctic, and beyond — making this one of the most exciting skywatching periods of the decade.

If you love astronomy, photography, or just witnessing rare cosmic events, this is your time. 🌞🔥

Mark your calendars — the universe is putting on a show you won’t want to miss!
