Good news, innovators!

The submission deadline for the SCS Days 2026 Ideathon: Red Line Challenge has been extended to give more teams the chance to refine their ideas and submit their proposals.

If you and your team are still polishing your concept, this is your moment. Take the extra time to strengthen your pitch, sharpen your solution, and make your idea stand out.

New Submission Deadline: April 19, 2026

SCS Days 2026 IDEATHON: THE 2030 RED LINE CHALLENGE IS HERE.

In 2015, the world agreed on a blueprint for peace and prosperity: the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.

It is now 2026 and we are at a critical juncture.

Global progress has slowed. For many of our most vital targets, we are in the red. We no longer have the luxury of broad, vague ideas. The world needs targeted, technical, and high-impact interventions and it needs them NOW.

The 2030 Red Line Challenge isn't about general awareness.
It is about solving the specific bottleneck problems that stand between us and a sustainable future.

We are calling SCS's brightest minds to move beyond theory and pitch solutions that can be deployed, scaled, and sustained in the real world.

Are you ready to answer the urgency?

Winning from across the miles!

While they are currently making the most of their student exchange program in Taiwan, our 4th-year BS Computer Science students just gave us another reason to celebrate!

Huge kudos to Mary Amiel Catado, Marylle Roche, and Anthony James Plaza for securing 2nd Place (International Category) at the 21st Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Creative Design Competition hosted by STUST!

Even while immersed in their exchange studies abroad, these Josenians are proving that excellence knows no borders. Their winning project, “RGB-D Signal Processing Framework for Food Intake Volume Estimation and Personalized Nutrition Recommendation,” is a brilliant leap toward intelligent health monitoring.

We also want to give a massive shout-out to our incredible alumni who dominated the same stage:

Aaron Benjamin R. Alcuitas (Batch 2024, Summa Cum Laude) – 1st Place
Vence Jumar Sasing – Honorable Mention

To our students still in Taiwan: Keep soaring, keep learning, and enjoy every bit of that exchange experience! We can’t wait to welcome you back.

| The University of San Jose–Recoletos congratulates 4th year BS Computer Science students Mary Amiel Catado, Marylle Roche, and Anthony James Plaza for winning Second Place in the International Category of the 21st Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Creative Design Competition organized by Southern Taiwan University of Science and Technology (STUST).

Their project, “RGB-D Signal Processing Framework for Food Intake Volume Estimation and Personalized Nutrition Recommendation,” uses depth and visual signal processing to support intelligent health monitoring and personalized nutrition management.

The University also recognizes alumni who excelled in the same competition. Aaron Benjamin R. Alcuitas (Batch 2024, Summa Cum Laude) won First Place for “Music Tactalizer: A Haptic Music Player using Multi-feature Audio-Tactile Rendering,” while Vence Jumar Sasing received an Honorable Mention for “Cutaneous Haptic Glove Development for Virtual Applications.”
