STAY ALERT, STAY PREPARED! 🚒🔥

MCPI successfully conducted our Fire Drill Seminar, with the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) as our official facilitator! 🇵🇭👨‍🚒

Guided by the experts from BFP, our team learned essential fire safety practices, prevention measures, and proper emergency response and evacuation procedures. This activity reinforces our commitment to keeping our workplace and community secure, reminding us that safety is everyone’s shared responsibility.

A huge thank you to the BFP team for sharing their valuable knowledge and expertise, and to all MCPI members for your active participation and cooperation! Let’s carry these lessons with us and always put safety first. 💪

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Research Assistant who will also take on Pollution Control Officer (PCO) responsibilities. This role is ideal for a professional with a background in science or engineering who enjoys a mix of data-driven research and environmental compliance management.

Key Responsibilities:
Research Support: Assist in data collection, sensory evaluations, and technical analysis for ongoing product development projects.

Environmental Compliance: Serve as the designated Pollution Control Officer, ensuring the facility meets all regulatory requirements and environmental standards.

Documentation: Prepare technical reports, monitor inventory, and maintain accurate records for both research and compliance audits.

Liaison Duties: Coordinate with relevant government agencies and internal departments regarding environmental permits and reporting.

Qualifications
Education: Degree in Food Technology, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.

Certification: Must be a Certified Pollution Control Officer (or eligible for certification).

Skills: Strong analytical skills, proficiency in technical writing, and a solid understanding of environmental regulations.

Mindset: Highly organized, observant, and capable of managing administrative and investigative tasks with integrity.

Regional agencies and stakeholders in Central Visayas formalize their collaboration today, Nov. 27, 2025 in Cebu through the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for the Seaweed Revitalization Program, reinforcing their shared commitment to boost the region’s seaweed industry.

The BFAR-led Technical Working Group brings together the Department of Agriculture, DOST, DTI, PCIC, Landbank, academic institutions including USC, CTU, and BISU, along with seaweed processors (MCPI represented by McDaniel Vincent Ricohermoso) and farmer organizations.

MCPI Corporation proudly took part in the 1st Bangsamoro Seaweed Congress held at Dahuwan Tampeh Resort, Tawi-Tawi, Philippines last Oct 28-30,2025
Our Research and Product Development Manager, Ms. Teresa Amaryllis C Simbajon , delivered an insightful presentation on “Seaweed Processing and Carrageenan Market Trends.”
In her talk, Ms. Simbajon discussed the processing methods, sources and types of carrageenan, its existing markets, and the potential future opportunities for this vital seaweed-derived product. She also highlighted the new applications and innovations driving the growth of the carrageenan industry.
MCPI Corporation extends its congratulations to the organizers and participants for a successful event that fosters collaboration and sustainable development within the seaweed sector.

MCPI Corporation is honored to be one of the speakers at the Farmers-Fisherfolks’ Advancement and Integration in Resilient Value Chains (FAIR-VALUE) Project dialogue! 💬✨

🇪🇺 This project is funded by the European Union (EU) under the Bangsamoro Agri-Enterprise Program (BAEP) and jointly implemented by:
🤝 International Organization for Migration (IOM)
🌾 Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO)
🌍 International Trade Centre (ITC)

📌 Project Goal:
To strengthen the quality, diversity, and market responsiveness of local agricultural and aquaculture products in the island provinces of Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi.

👥 Participants include:

✔️ 4 Traders/Consolidators
✔️ 2 Processors
✔️ Representatives from LGU Languyan & Sapa-sapa
✔️ Provincial Agriculturist of Tawi-Tawi

🏭 As part of the activity, participants also had a quick tour of a Carrageenan Processing Plant in Zamboanga City—getting a closer look at how seaweed is transformed into valuable products. 🌍✨
