Communication is at the heart of disaster resilience, and we’re honored to be part of this important conversation.

Our Program Leader, Dr. Jonnifer Sinogaya, joins as a keynote speaker at the 6th DukiTuki: UP Cebu Communication Program Research Forum 2026, bringing together diverse voices to examine how risk is communicated and lived in Cebu.

The May 5-6 two-day program features plenary sessions, special discussions, and parallel research presentations covering areas such as early warning communication, governance, media, community experiences, and emerging issues, including environmental justice and mental health in crisis contexts.

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Teresa Claire Alicaba on March 23, 2026.

Terai, as she was fondly called, was UP Cebu CENVI’s energetic and dedicated Program Coordinator.

She was known for her strength and resilience, continuing to show up wholeheartedly and tirelessly despite battling her illness. You always knew when she was in the room—not only because of her presence, but also because of her booming voice and laughter, her energy, and her unmistakably bubbly spirit.

We are deeply grateful for everything she gave, for every moment she shared, and for the lasting impact she leaves behind.

To all whose lives were touched by Terai, we cherish your support and humbly ask for prayers for her eternal rest.

Her wake will be held at her family home in San Vicente St, Brgy. Poblacion 1, Carcar, Cebu, with the funeral taking place on Sunday, March 29 2pm at St. Martha’s Cemetery, Carcar.
