July 13–14, 2026 | 2-Day Scaffolding Structures and Practical Training

For the second consecutive year, SCAFORM Engineering Services was honored to partner with the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) – Davao City in conducting our 2-Day Training on Scaffolding Structures and Practical Training: Understanding Design Concepts and Safe Er****on.

The training was attended by graduating Civil Engineering students to strengthen their understanding of scaffoldingβ€”from the engineering principles behind temporary structure design to the safe er****on, inspection, and dismantling of scaffolds. Through lectures and hands-on practical activities, the participants experienced how engineering concepts are applied in actual construction projects.

This year's training reaffirmed our belief that many engineering students need greater exposure to practical applications beyond the classroom. While engineering education provides a strong foundation in mathematics, design principles, and theory, students also need opportunities to experience how these concepts are translated into real-world engineering solutions. Practical learning bridges the gap between knowledge and competence, allowing future engineers to develop confidence, critical thinking, and technical skills.

Engineering is more than solving equations and memorizing formulasβ€”it is about creating safe, efficient, and innovative solutions that improve lives. By exposing students to actual engineering practices, we help them appreciate the profession they have chosen and prepare them for the challenges of the construction industry.

At SCAFORM Engineering Services, we remain committed to supporting Civil Engineering students by providing industry-based training that complements academic learning. Our goal is to help develop competent, safety-conscious, and globally competitive engineers who are ready to build the future of our nation.

Big thanks to Engr. Pau, Engr. Nica and the University of Southeastern Philippines for once again entrusting us with this meaningful opportunity. We look forward to continuing this partnership in developing the next generation of Filipino engineers.

PAY IT FORWARD: The SCAFORM Principle

From March 30 to July 3, 2026, SCAFORM successfully completed the 480-hour On-the-Job Training (OJT) Program for Civil Engineering students from MapΓΊa Malayan Colleges Mindanao.

This collaboration with one of the Philippines' leading civil engineering institutions reflects our shared commitment to bridging the gap between classroom knowledge and real-world construction practice. Through hands-on training in Scaffolding Design, Estimating, and Management, the students gained practical experience that reinforced the importance of engineering principles in ensuring scaffold safety.

The program emphasized that the safe er****on and dismantling of scaffolds must always be based on proper engineering design and sound technical standardsβ€”not solely on experience. It also provided students with the opportunity to compare their design calculations with actual field implementation, giving them valuable insights into professional construction practices.

At SCAFORM, we believe that education is the foundation of safety. By investing in the next generation of Filipino engineers, we are helping build a safer, more competent, and more responsible construction industry. This is our Pay It Forward principleβ€”sharing knowledge today to create safer workplaces for tomorrow.

We sincerely thank MapΓΊa Malayan Colleges Mindanao, the faculty members, and our OJT trainees for their dedication, enthusiasm, and commitment to learning. We look forward to continuing this meaningful partnership in developing future engineering professionals.

PART 2 – SCAFORM'S CONTINUED COMMITMENT TO THE METRO MANILA SUBWAY PROJECT (MMSP) AS A THIRD-PARTY SCAFFOLDING CONSULTANT

SCAFORM successfully conducted the second scaffolding structure inspection and certification for the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP). This milestone provided valuable experience that will further enhance our future training programs. It also allowed us to gain deeper knowledge of Japanese scaffolding systems and their effective application as shoring support solutions that are both efficient and cost-effective.

As a training provider, SCAFORM is committed to ensuring that our TRAINERS possess not only strong engineering expertise but also extensive real-world experience and practical application skills. We strive to equip our TRAINESS with high-quality knowledge and technical competence while developing their ability to solve real-world challenges effectively and confidently.

Watch out for our upcoming series of training programs this JULY 2026 as we continue to deliver high-quality training designed to enhance technical knowledge, practical skills, and real-world problem-solving capabilities for industry professionals.

Construction of the much-awaited Samal Island – Davao City Connector (SIDC) Project continues to be on steady pace at 57.338% accomplishment, moving one percent (1%) ahead of schedule and keeping track of its target completion before the term of the Marcos Administration ends in 2028.

Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Senior Undersecretary Emil K. Sadain spearheaded the site inspection on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, to assess the progress of the ongoing civil works on the bridge substructure.

Also present during inspection are Unified Project Management Office (UPMO) – Bridges Management Cluster Project Director Rodrigo I. Delos Reyes, OIC-Project Manager John Christian T. Gaden, and key technical staff and engineers from the UPMO and the contractor China Road & Bridge Corporation.

Bored piling works on the west (Davao) and east (Samal) land viaducts, as well as the west marine viaduct and main navigational bridge have been fully completed, with only the bored piles for the Davao approach ramp still ongoing. On the other hand, concrete pouring for the columns of the two (2) main piers of the navigational bridge has also been finished, while the installation of form works for the box girders supporting the bridge deck has already commenced.

Once completed, this project will stand as an iconic feat of modern engineering, and will further boost growth and development in the economic and tourism hubs of Davao City and Samal Island.

ON-THE-JOB TRAINING FOR CIVIL ENGINEERING STUDENTS

At SCAFORM, we always prioritize our commitment to educating Filipinos on how to mitigate risks when working on scaffolds. This commitment is reflected in how we value education and training within our company.

We apply the basic principles of scaffold design and use sketches and illustrations to help students better understand the proper methods and appreciate the importance of safe scaffold practices. This OJT program bridges the gap between classroom learning and the real-world site environment. It allows students to apply their theoretical knowledge in professional settings while developing essential workplace skills.

Through our OJT program, we share actual industry experiences and the practical approaches we have developed over nearly 20 years in the industry. Our goal is to equip future civil engineers with both technical knowledge and practical understanding of scaffold safety, design, and site operations.

SCAFORM NOW AT WORK IN THE METRO MANILA SUBWAY PROJECT (MMSP)

Another milestone for SCAFORM as we officially take part in the Metro Manila Subway Project (MMSP) as a 3rd Party Scaffolding Consultant.

About the Project

The Metro Rail Transit Line 9 (MRT-9), commonly known as the Metro Manila Subway, is a 33-kilometer underground rapid transit system currently under construction in Metro Manila, Philippines. The line will run north–south, connecting Valenzuela, Quezon City, Pasig, Taguig, ParaΓ±aque, and Pasay, with 17 stations from East Valenzuela to Bicutan. It will also serve as the country’s second direct airport rail link, with a connection to Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Dubbed the country’s β€œProject of the Century,” the subway broke ground on February 27, 2019, with construction beginning later that year. While the project experienced delays due to the COVID-19 pandemic and ongoing right-of-way challenges, it remains a transformative development for the nation’s transportation system. The project is expected to cost β‚±355.6 billion (approximately US$7.06 billion in 2017 terms), with full operations projected in the early 2030s.

SCAFORM is proud to contribute to a project that will shape the future of mobility in the Philippines.
