Available Capacity - 2,480MW
Peak Demand - 2,546MW

6 plants are on forced outage on September 2026, 12 plants since August, 4 plants since July, 1 plant since June, 2 plants since January, 1 plant since 2025, and 1 plant since 2024, while 7 plants are running on derated capacities, for a total of 841.6MW unavailable to the grid.
�Factor/s that contributed to the YELLOW Alert declaration: �
1. Unavailability of Mindanao's large coal plants GNPK 1 & 2 and TSI 2.

A red alert status is issued when power supply is insufficient to meet consumer demand and the transmission grid’s regulating requirement.
�A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission grid’s contingency requirement.

Advisory: Davao Light On Mindanao’s Power Situation

Davao Light is closely monitoring the Mindanao power supply situation following the Red Alert advisory issued by the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) on September 3 due to tight supply conditions in the grid.

The tight supply is due to the unavailability of some generating units while electricity demand remains high. Davao Light has activated measures to help minimize the impact on customers and manage the available supply. However, power interruptions may still be experienced as part of efforts to manage the situation. The need for such measures may lessen if supply conditions improve or demand remains manageable.

Davao Light continues to closely monitor the situation and will issue advisories should power interruptions become necessary. Customers are encouraged to check Davao Light’s official communication channels for the latest updates.

Customers are also encouraged to use electricity wisely, especially during peak hours, to help manage demand during this period of tight supply.

From ₱6,011.43 to ₱853.26. ☀️

Here’s a real residential solar result.

Before solar, the household consumed 488 kWh from the grid with an electricity bill of ₱6,011.43.

July was the transition month with partial solar operation. By August, after a full billing month with solar, grid consumption dropped to just 59 kWh, bringing the bill down to ₱853.26.

System installed:

⚡ 6.2 kW hybrid inverter
🔋 240 Ah battery bank

The result:
💰 ₱5,158.17 lower electricity bill
📉 85.8% reduction in electricity cost
⚡ 87.9% less energy drawn from the grid
