The Integrated Assessment and Modelling of Blue Carbon Ecosystem for Conservation and Adaptive Management (IAMBlueCECAM) Program is the Philippine counterpart project of the Comprehensive Assessment and Conservation of Blue Carbon Ecosystem and their Services in the Coral Triangle (BlueCARES) Project under Japan's Science and Technology Research Partnership for Sustainable Development (SATREPS).
The IAMBlueCECAM Program aims on using utilizing space technology and geosimulation to develop for use by governments, communities and institution, a blue carbon strategy as an effective scheme to enhance local efforts to conserve coastal ecosystems and improve their resilience in mitigating global warming. The program consists of 10 project that works on achieving the programs objectives:
Project 1: Mangrove Remote Sensing Using LiDAR, RADAR, Multispectral, and Hyperspectral Data (MaRS)
Project 2: LiDAR, Hyperspectral, and Sonar Remote Sensing of Seagrass and Corals (SeaRS)
Project 3: Geosimulation of Mangroves and Seagrass Vegetation Dynamics (GeoSiMAS)
Project 4: Hydrodynamic Modelling for the Assessment of Protective Services of Mangroves and Seagrass (HMAPS-MS)
Project 5: Modelling, Analysis and Simulation of Blue Carbon Cycle and Budgets (BlueCyMAS)
Project 6: Suitability Models for Guiding Mangrove Replanting Efforts (SuitMaPs)
Project 7: Economic Valuation of Generated Blue Carbon Ecosystem Services
(EconValBlue)
Project 8: Multi-Agent Systems for Simulating Policy Scenarios on Blue Carbon Ecosystems (BlueMASSPoliS)
Project 9: WebGIS for Mapping, Supporting Decision-making, and Promoting Ecological Services of Blue Carbon Ecosystems (BlueWebMapS)
Project 10: Geospatial Decision Support Systems and Capacity Building
on Geomatics for Mangrove Seagrass Conservation (CapGeoDSS)
