The 15MWac ORMECO Solar Power Plant project in Bansud continues to progress following the latest coordination meeting between ORMECO, Inc. and Magnus Renewable Tech Corp.

Both parties confirmed that key preparatory requirements are ongoing, including permit processing and planning for the next phases of construction.

According to updates, the coordination aims to ensure that project timelines are met, with commercial operations targeted for 2027.
Among the outlined milestones are the application for a Solar Energy Operating Contract (SEOC) and the completion of a feasibility study in the third quarter of 2026, followed by expected approval in the fourth quarter of the same year.

The next coordination meeting is scheduled for June 30 to provide further updates on project developments.

✅ 𝗪𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗨𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴: Zero upfront cost! Hindi mababaon sa utang ang kooperatiba dahil ang bayad ay base lamang sa aktwal na kuryenteng magagawa ng planta (No Production = No Payment).
✅ 𝗣𝗮𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗺, 𝗕𝗿𝗼𝘄𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘁:: Salamat sa battery system, mas magiging matatag ang suplay ng kuryente kahit gabi at mababawasan ang pagdepende sa mahal na krudo (diesel) nang hanggang 80%.

Magnus attended the 53rd Foundation Celebration of ORMECO, Inc. (Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative), where a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) was signed for the development of the 15-MW Bansud Solar Power Plant Project, marking a significant milestone in our shared commitment to sustainable energy.

PHILRECA Graces ORMECO’s 53rd Year, Marking Sustainable Power and the Enduring Beauty of the ‘MAHALTA NA’ Province

The Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA) extends its warmest congratulations to the Oriental Mindoro Electric Cooperative, Inc. (ORMECO) in the celebration of its 53rd Founding Anniversary held on February 13, 2026.

Headed by ORMECO General Manager Engr. Humphrey A. Dolor together with the Board Directors, the anniversary highlighted significant initiatives demonstrating ORMECO’s continuing commitment to strengthening power reliability and advancing sustainable energy solutions for its member-consumer-owners (MCOs). Among the key events were the awarding of the Notice to Proceed (NTP) and Contract Signing with Alternative Power Solutions, Inc. (APSI), the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing between ORMECO and the Catuiran Hydroelectric Power Plant, and MOA signing with Magnus Renewable Tech Corp. for the 15MW Bansud Solar Power Plant Project.

PHILRECA Executive Director and General Manager Atty. Janeene Depay-Colingan commended ORMECO for its proactive efforts to diversify energy sources and pursue renewable energy projects that support long-term sustainability, energy security, and consumer welfare.

She also acknowledged the symbolic significance of the writings displayed on the walls of ORMECO’s headquarters, which reflect the EC’s vision, goals, and dedication to its MCOs.

“Marami na ang nabura, hindi dahil nakalimutan, kundi dahil matagumpay nang naisakatuparan. At marami pa ring nananatiling nakaukit, sapagkat patuloy ang ORMECO sa paglalatag ng mga plano at inisyatiba upang higit pang mapabuti ang kanilang kooperatiba at ang serbisyong inihahatid sa kanilang mga MCOs.”

PHILRECA reaffirmed its support for ORMECO and all ECs nationwide as they continue to pursue innovation, resilience, and service excellence in the evolving energy landscape.

This commitment echoes the spirit of MAHALTA NA, a proud symbol of Oriental Mindoro embodied by the MAngyan tribe, Mt. HALcon, the TAmaraw, and NAujan Lake – icons of the province’s cultural heritage, natural strength, and enduring beauty.
