PSABE Annual National Convention 2027 goes to

ERRATUM:
​Please be advised that the earlier announcement naming Ilocos as the venue for the 2027 PSABE National Convention was premature. While Ilocos is currently being considered as a potential location, there has been no final decision yet from the PSABE Board of Trustees.

​Official confirmation regarding the 2027 venue will be released only after the board has concluded its formal deliberations. We apologize for any confusion this may have caused.

​As the curtains draw to a close on the historic 75th PSABE Annual National Convention, we reflect on a week of unparalleled professional synergy and regional pride. Standing at the heart of the "Land of Dream Weavers," Engr. Edward R. Lapong, Ph.D., President of the Co-Host Chapter (PSABE Region XII) and Convention Co-Chair, delivered a powerful closing message that resonated with every Bayaw in attendance.

​Dr. Lapong highlighted that hosting this landmark convention for the fourth time is a resounding testament to Region XII's enduring capability to convene the nation’s finest minds. From the vigor of research presentations to the cultural vibrancy of the Governor’s, Mayor’s, Congressional and Sponsor's Night, the convention served as a beacon of unity, proving that in South Cotabato, tradition and progress harmoniously converge.

​The success of this Diamond Jubilee was made possible through the tireless collaboration of the PSABE National Organizers, our generous sponsors, and our steadfast partners in the Local Government Units of Koronadal City and South Cotabato. We extend our deepest gratitude to the dedicated men and women of the PSABE South Cotabato Chapter and the regional committees who worked behind the scenes to showcase the very best our region has to offer.

​The 75th PSABE Diamond Jubilee National Convention has officially ushered in a new chapter for our professional society with the formal oathtaking of its newly elected national officers. Leading the way into the next era of our 75-year legacy is our new National President, Engr. Peachie B. Melendez. Her ascent to the presidency is especially significant as she concurrently served as the visionary Chairperson of this year’s historic Diamond Jubilee, demonstrating her tireless dedication and exceptional ability to lead the ABE community through our most landmark celebrations.

​Joining her at the helm of leadership is the newly sworn-in Vice President, Engr. Andres M. Tuates, Jr., Ph.D. Together, they represent a formidable combination of administrative expertise, academic excellence, and a deep-rooted commitment to the profession. As they took their vows of service here in Koronadal City, the atmosphere was one of immense optimism and unity, reflecting the collective confidence of the general membership in this new leadership team.

Diez, the President of the PSABE-PPG University of Southern Mindanao (USM) Chapter, has been officially recognized as the 2026 Most Outstanding ABE Student Leader. This prestigious award highlights Armand's exceptional leadership and his unwavering dedication to the Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student community.

This victory is particularly significant as it marks the second consecutive year that our region has claimed this top honor. It follows the footsteps of Engr. Gwyneth Pearl Javier of Mindanao State University (MSU) General Santos, who was conferred the same award last year during the 2025 convention in Iloilo City. The Playground of Champions: Region XII Secures a Historic Triple Crown

The Diamond Jubilee stage belongs to Region XII as we celebrate a monumental double sweep tonight! The newest national titles have been awarded to two phenomenal representatives from the University of Southern Mindanao, further solidifying our region's reputation for excellence and professional pride. We are beyond proud to announce that Mr. Rainier Clyde Salanap has been crowned Mr. PSABE-PPG 2026, while Ms. Zeirynne Shaen Arrocena Rodriguez takes home the title of Ms. PSABE-PPG 2026.

Their victory tonight is a resounding testament to the caliber of talent and leadership fostered within our local institutions. Securing these two major titles on such a historic national stage proves that when we call Region XII the "Playground of Champions," we are speaking of a reality built on hard work and brilliance. This incredible feat follows the powerful momentum started last night, where the prestigious crown of Ms. PSABE 2026 was also brought home to our region by the equally stunning Ms. Cyra Ylaiza Mae Posadas who is also from USM.

Three national crowns in just two nights is a feat that will be etched in the history of the Philippine Society of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineers. We extend our warmest congratulations to our new royalties for showcasing the grace, intelligence, and spirit of the ABEs in SOCCSKSARGEN. Earlier Today: A Day of Technical Rigor and Research Excellence

Day 3 of the 75th PSABE National Convention underscored the society’s commitment to high-level intellectual exchange and the advancement of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering in the Philippines. The day commenced with high-level plenary sessions where industry leaders and experts provided strategic insights into the future of the profession, followed by a transition into four concurrent technical breakout sessions facilitating a deep dive into specialized ABE domains.

The scale of research presented today was truly remarkable, featuring fifty-two (52) technical papers that were scrutinized by four panels of expert technical evaluators. These twelve evaluators ensured the highest standards of academic and professional merit were maintained throughout the rigorous presentation process.

In addition to the oral presentations, sixty-four (64) technical posters were showcased, representing a diverse array of research endeavors and innovations from ABEs across the archipelago. From rigorous scrutiny to the appreciation of engineering ingenuity, today was a testament to the "Diamond Legacy" of PSABE—driving innovation for a mechanized and digitally-optimized nation.
