On May 5, 2026, a meaningful donation initiative was successfully conducted at the Provincial Correction Center in Borongan City, where 100 Sleeping Mats and 100 Blankets were formally turned over for the benefit of the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs). Threads of hope are being stitched into opportunities as Emir Mineral Resources Corporation successfully turned over the 2nd batch of sewing machines and dressmaking materials to the EMIR 8 TESDA Dressmaking Trainees through its Social Development and Management Program (SDMP), in partnership with the Barangay Council of Casuguran.

More than providing equipment, this initiative empowers aspiring individuals with the tools, skills, and confidence to create sustainable livelihoods and build a better future for their families. Through strong collaboration and shared commitment to community development, EMIR continues to transform lives by opening doors to learning, productivity, and economic opportunity.

A Multi-Stakeholder Consultation Meeting was conducted on last May 5, 2026, in Municipality of Guiuan, Eastern Samar. The purpose of the said meeting was to address the Mining Concerns in Homonhon and Manicani Islands, Guiuan Eatern Samar.

This is an important activity in promoting transparency, accountability, and cooperation among the mining company, Local Government Units (LGUs), government agencies, host and neighboring communities, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders.

The consultation serves as a platform to discuss mining activities, environmental management measures, community development programs, and social responsibilities to ensure that operations are conducted responsibly and sustainably.

An Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign on the Social Development and Management Program (SDMP) was successfully conducted at the SB Hall, LGU-Guiuan. The activity aimed to enhance awareness and understanding among the LGU and mining companies regarding the objectives, initiatives, and positive impacts of the SDMP in fostering sustainable development and community welfare.

The campaign highlighted various programs focused on environmental protection, livelihood enhancement, health services, education, and social development for host and neighboring communities.

Moreover, the activity promoted transparency and accountability by providing updates on programs, policies, and assistance available to communities. It also served as a platform for collaboration, open communication, and partnership-building toward long-term social and economic progress.

The forest fire in Brgy. Canawayon remains ongoing as of this time. Continuous firefighting, rescue, and response operations are being intensively carried out through the coordinated efforts of Brgy. Canawayon residents, BFP personnel, and the support of globan and verum mining company water trucks and EMIR employees.

All residents are **strongly advised to remain on high alert**, follow safety protocols, and be prepared for possible emergency measures as the situation develops.
