Celebrating MSU-IIT Research Week with the Center for Mechatronics and Robotics Laboratory family — members, staff, graduate students, and undergraduate students united by innovation, collaboration, and a shared passion for research and innovation.

The exhibit showcased various robotic technologies, including tracked robot for search and rescue operation, an unmanned surface vehicle for mangrove monitoring, collaborative track and transport system, an abaca frame-based underwater ROV, drone-based gas sensing and water sampling systems, shelled UAV, as well as the magnetic robot for inspection and the harpoon-based robot for seismic device deployment.

Together, we continue to build, discover, and contribute to meaningful advancements in mechatronics, robotics, and engineering.

𝗡𝗢𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗘 𝗧𝗢 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗣𝗨𝗕𝗟𝗜𝗖 | The Mindanao State University - Iligan Institute of Technology 𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗼 𝗶𝘀 𝗮 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗸, and the university is the exclusive owner of the university’s name, logo, marks and emblems. Any use of the logo requires prior approval and license from the university.

ZAMMI Sales Corp. is currently the only printing company authorized by the university to print and produce products bearing the MSU-IIT logo, under a licensing agreement.

The Philippine Information Agency recently featured MSU-IIT professor Carl John Salaan for his work on InfraspeX, an innovative infrastructure inspection system.

Developed with funding from the Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST-PCIEERD), InfraspeX leverages drones and artificial intelligence to enhance the safety and maintenance of roads and bridges in the Philippines. The project provides real-time, accurate assessments, improving infrastructure management and reducing risks of structural failure.

Dr. Salaan emphasized that InfraspeX offers a faster, safer, and more reliable alternative to traditional inspection methods. This initiative aligns with national development goals, particularly in sustaining the country's infrastructure improvements beyond the "Build, Build, Build" program.
