CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator proudly showcased homegrown innovation at the 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 (𝗔𝗜) 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, held on August 3–5, 2026, at the Iloilo Convention Center, under the theme “𝘉𝘶𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘢𝘯 𝘈𝘐-𝘙𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘍𝘶𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘦, 𝘛𝘰𝘨𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳.”

Across the three-day event, CPUGAD TBI and its community of innovators took part in the AI Exhibits, Lightning Talks, and AI Hackathon, bringing together startups, students, and innovators to showcase their solutions, share ideas, and put their skills to the test.

At the 𝗔𝗜 𝗘𝘅𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀, CPUGAD TBI startups 𝗛𝗘𝗫 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝗶𝗲𝘀, ArticuLit, PackUp, and Ganapps showcased their AI-driven products and solutions, connecting with fellow innovators, industry leaders, government agencies, academic institutions, and other stakeholders in the AI ecosystem.

Taking the conversation to the stage, 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗿. 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗶𝗲 𝗖. 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘀, Founder and CEO of HEX Technologies (HEX.Edu), served as one of the 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸𝘀 speakers, presenting 𝗔𝗜𝗿𝗱𝘂𝗶𝗻𝗼 𝗔𝗿𝗰𝗵𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗰𝘁—an AI-powered visual programming and prototyping platform designed to help creators and innovators build, test, and develop smart solutions.

CPU's innovation community also made its mark in the 𝗔𝗜 𝗛𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗮𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗻, with Team 𝗦𝗢𝗟𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗘, a CPUGAD TBI incubatee, securing a spot among the 𝗧𝗼𝗽 𝟱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝘀 in the Open Category and finishing 2nd among the five finalist teams.

More than a showcase of emerging technologies, AI Fest 2026 provided a space for students, startups, and innovators to showcase, compete, connect, and learn alongside leaders and stakeholders shaping the future of artificial intelligence.

Through opportunities like AI Fest, CPUGAD TBI continues to nurture an innovation community where ideas can move beyond the nest—into platforms where they can be tested, shared, strengthened, and transformed into solutions with meaningful impact. 🤖🚀

The CPUGAD NEXT: Beyond the Nest Year 2 Culminating Activity marked a defining milestone for the DOST–CPU CPUGAD Technology Business Incubator (CPUGAD TBI) as it celebrated the successful completion of its two years of implementation.

The celebration began with 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗫𝗵𝗶𝗯𝗶𝘁𝘀, where startup founders showcased their technologies, innovative solutions, and entrepreneurial ventures through interactive exhibits, giving guests a firsthand look at the innovations nurtured by CPUGAD TBI.

The program officially opened with the Welcome Remarks delivered by Rev. Dr. Ernest Howard B. Dagohoy, President of Central Philippine University, followed by the Opening Message of Engr. Gelvie C. Lagos, Project Leader of CPUGAD TBI, setting the tone for an afternoon of celebrating innovation, collaboration, and shared accomplishments.

The program then proceeded to 𝗲𝗫𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲, beginning with the Keynote Address of Engr. Rowen R. Gelonga, CESO II, Regional Director of DOST Western Visayas, who underscored that technology business incubation and strategic collaboration are essential drivers of sustainable regional development. He challenged our startups to look beyond the pitch and align their innovations with a broader mission of national progress, rooted in DOST's pillars.

The segment concluded with Messages of Support from CPUGAD TBI’s valued partners, including the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Industry, Energy and Emerging Technology Research and Development (DOST PCIEERD) through a live Zoom message delivered by Engr. Kisha Grace Picpican, HEIRIT CPUGAD TBI Project Manager, and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce & Industry - Iloilo Chapter, Inc., represented by Mr. Jose Francisco Gerona, Sector Head for Business Innovation and Startups. Both partners recognized CPUGAD TBI's milestones and expressed their confidence and continued support as the incubator advances into its next phase of growth and ecosystem development.

A major highlight of the program was 𝗫-𝗣𝗨𝗟𝗦𝗘: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗣𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗕𝗜 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝗳𝗿𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲, where the incubator’s six functional units presented their accomplishments, key initiatives, and contributions over the past two years, demonstrating how an integrated support system has empowered startups and strengthened the regional innovation ecosystem.

This was followed by 𝗲𝗫𝗽𝗼𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁: 𝗖𝗣𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗕𝗜 𝗶𝗻 𝗡𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿𝘀, presented by Mr. Mark Gil D. Peraman, General Manager of CPUGAD TBI, highlighting the incubator’s milestones, accomplishments, and growing impact throughout its two-year implementation. The presentation was complemented by the premiere of the CPUGAD TBI Year 2 Video Presentation, capturing the incubator’s journey, growth, and accomplishments over the past two years.

Through 𝗫-𝗟𝗜𝗡𝗞, the audience witnessed successful startup technology deployments and the forging of strategic partnerships between startups and industry, showcasing how collaboration accelerates innovation and real-world impact.

The celebration culminated with the CPUGAD TBI 𝗲𝗫𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀, recognizing the invaluable contributions of our esteemed partners from government agencies, Central Philippine University offices and academic departments, higher education institutions, industry partners, mentors, startup founders, and ecosystem enablers, whose commitment and collaboration have been instrumental in the successful implementation of CPUGAD TBI.

Looking ahead, 𝗲𝗫𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻: 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝗡𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗣𝗨𝗚𝗔𝗗 𝗧𝗕𝗜, presented by Dr. Aries Roda D. Romallosa, Acting Vice President for Research, Development and Extension, outlined the incubator’s strategic direction as it continues to strengthen partnerships, support emerging startups, and advance innovation and technology commercialization beyond its initial implementation.

As we look back on these moments, we celebrate not only what CPUGAD TBI has accomplished over the past two years, but also the people and partnerships that made every milestone possible. Together, we have laid a strong foundation for innovation, entrepreneurship, and technology commercialization—and together, we look forward to shaping an even brighter future for Western Visayas and beyond.

For two years, the DOST- CPU CPUGAD TBI has nurtured ideas, empowered innovators, cultivated startups, and strengthened the regional innovation ecosystem. As we celebrate this milestone, we also look ahead—not just to what we have accomplished, but to the greater opportunities that await beyond incubation.

Anchored on the theme "Beyond the Nest," this year's culminating activity introduces 𝗡.𝗘.𝗫.𝗧. as the pathway toward deeper collaboration and greater impact:
