The extension of the red alert is due to the tripping of PDPP1 U5 (5MW), Carmen Diesel U1 (10MW), PDPP3 C(12MW), PDPP3 G(13MW), and increase in forecasted demand, further aggravating the supply deficiency.

A red alert status is issued when power supply is insufficient to meet consumer demand and the transmission gridโ€™s regulating requirement.

A yellow alert is issued when the operating margin is insufficient to meet the transmission gridโ€™s contingency requirement.

Manual Load Dropping may be implemented if the supply and demand are not balanced.

All consumers are advised to conserve electricity.

MORE POWER RESTORATION UPDATE: Scheduled Power Interruption

Ongoing works in the affected areas under Megaworld Feeder 5 are taking longer than expected due to unforeseen circumstances and the team needs more time to complete the tasks.

The new estimated time for the completion of work is on or before 2:00 PM.

MORE POWER ADVISORY: NGCP RED AND YELLOW ALERT NOTICE

Date: May 15, 2026

As of 8:00 AM today, the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) has placed the Visayas Grid under Red Alert status (5:00 PM - 9:00 PM) and Yellow Alert status (2:00 PM - 5:00 PM and 9:00 PM - 11:00 PM) due to insufficient power supply.

In line with this, there is a possibility of Manual Load Dropping (MLD) and Rotational Brownout, which may result in power interruptions that may affect some customers. Please note that the affected feeders will be identified based on the required load reduction to be implemented as requested by NGCP.

As of 8:47 PM, MORE Power announces the complete restoration of all feeders affected by the Manual Load Dropping (MLD) implemented by NGCP in the Visayas Grid due to power supply deficiency.

Please be advised that the Visayas Grid remains under Yellow Alert status until 11:00 PM. However, as of this time, power supply within our franchise area has normalized. MORE Power continues to closely monitor the situation to help maintain system stability and ensure reliable service to our consumers.

As of 7:30 PM, the Visayas Grid remains under Red Alert status until 10:00 PM, and NGCP has not requested any additional load dropping.

To restore power to customers affected earlier this afternoon, rotational brownouts will be implemented to maintain the allowable load within our franchise area.

The following feeder will be energized:
