From the Senate of the Philippines page:
“The new Senate building under construction in Taguig City has just been awarded the 4-star Building for Ecologically Responsive Design Excellence (BERDE) rating.
Senators and Senate officers and staff, led by Senate President Juan Miguel “Migz” F. Zubiri, received the certification Tuesday, March 19, 2024 from the Philippine Green Building Council.
The BERDE rating system is a tool to measure, verify and monitor performance of buildings above and beyond existing mandatory building and environmental regulations and standards. It is recognized by the Department of Energy as the National Voluntary Green Building Rating System.
“We are honored that the new Senate building achieves the prestigious 4-star rating, BERDE certification. This recognition highlights the Senate’s commitment to sustainable practices and environmentally-friendly structures. The new Senate building aspires to elevate its rating to Berede 5 stars, hopefully soon, underscoring our commitment to environmental responsibility,” Zubiri said. (Joseph B.
