FRUCTOSE - Essential ingredient sa paggawa ng BARLEY GUMMIES!!! Basahin ang negative effects neto!!! πππππ
Scientists just uncovered an unexpected culprit in cancer patients β fructose.
A pioneering study from The Wistar Institute has unveiled a surprising mechanism behind the recurrence of high-grade serous ovarian cancer, one of the most lethal gynecological diseases.
Traditionally, chemotherapy is designed to kill cancer cells, but some cells survive in a state of cell-cycle arrest known as senescence. Far from being dormant, researchers discovered that these chemotherapy-surviving cells remain highly active and release a complex cocktail of molecules to communicate with neighboring cells.
Unexpectedly, the key messenger driving this communication was identified as fructose. In preclinical models, the senescent cells secreted fructose, which acted as a signal that dramatically suppressed cholesterol in surrounding cancer cells, reducing their ability to stick together and allowing them to easily break away and metastasize.
This groundbreaking finding shifts the scientific focus from proteins to metabolites as primary drivers of cancer progression, opening up entirely new avenues for therapeutic intervention. While standard ovarian cancer treatments have historically targeted cellular genetics or proteins, this study suggests that blocking fructose metabolism could prevent tumors from spreading. Furthermore, the researchers warned that consuming high levels of dietary fructoseβsuch as from sugary beveragesβcould potentially exacerbate this metastatic signaling. As scientists begin to investigate whether dietary modifications or drugs targeting fructose-metabolizing enzymes can improve patient outcomes, the discovery underscores the profound and often overlooked impact of diet and metabolism on cancer's ability to survive and spread.
