Before an architect draws that beautiful façade, chooses that fancy material, or makes a space look “Instagrammable,” there are a lot of questions happening behind the scenes.

Because good architecture isn't just about how a space looks.

Here are 3 things we consider before finalizing a design:

Before we ask, “Ano nami nga design?”
We ask: “Paano niyo ni ginagamit ang space?”

Who lives here?
How many people?
What does your daily routine look like?
Where do you spend most of your time?
Do you cook often? Work from home? Have kids? Have elderly family members?

𝗕𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝘁 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲, 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱.

Good design doesn't always mean adding more lights and bigger air-conditioning units.

Sometimes, the best design is knowing how to use what nature already gives us.

Where does the sunlight come from?
Where should the windows be?

Let's talk about the elephant in the room: BUDGET. A design can look amazing on paper. But if the client can't afford to build it—it's just a beautiful, expensive drawing.

“Kaya naman kahit walang architect. Drawing drawing lang naman yan.”

We hear this a lot. Then later on, problems during construction arise, and that's the only time they'll ask a professional to step in.

And yes, technically, you can try to manage a construction project without one.

But the better question is:
