Isolated Footing vs Combined Footing vs Raft Foundation
Isolated Footing: Supports a single column. It is the most economical choice when columns are well spaced and the soil has good bearing capacity.
Combined Footing: Supports two or more columns with one footing. It is used when columns are close together or near a property boundary.
Raft Foundation: A large reinforced concrete slab supporting many columns and walls. It is ideal for weak soil and heavy structures, distributing loads over a wide area.
Key Difference:
Isolated Footing = One Column | Combined Footing = Multiple Nearby Columns | Raft Foundation = Entire Building Support
