📢 LUZON GRID ALERT ADVISORY
Update as of May 15, 2026 | 11:45 AM
The Luzon Grid continues to face a power supply deficit and remains under extended Red and Yellow Alert status today.
Despite the restoration of the Tayabas-Ilijan and Dasmariñas-Ilijan 500kV transmission lines last May 13, the grid is still experiencing a total of 4,828MW unavailable capacity due to forced outages and derated power plants. The situation was further aggravated by the tripping of GNPD Unit 1, resulting in the loss of 668MW.
Peak demand is expected to reach 12,927MW, exceeding the available capacity of 12,075MW.
🕒 ALERT SCHEDULE:
🟡 YELLOW ALERT: 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM
🔴 RED ALERT: 2:00 PM – 11:00 PM
🟡 YELLOW ALERT: 11:00 PM – 12:00 AM
We are continuously monitoring the situation as we wait for all affected plants to resynchronize back to the grid. Stay tuned for further updates.
