📢 𝐒𝐀𝐅𝐄𝐓𝐘 𝐀𝐃𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐑𝐘

In line with the clearance issued by DENR-EMB CALABARZON, the University is authorized to proceed with the dismantling and removal of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) at the Institute of Chemistry (IC), subject to strict compliance with applicable environmental laws and safety protocols.

The identified ACMs are non-friable, meaning they are in a stable condition and do not readily release fibers into the air when undisturbed. There is no cause for alarm or panic—this is a preventive and precautionary measure.

Portions of the Institute of Chemistry premises will be temporarily restricted during the dismantling activities. Entry into designated work zones is strictly prohibited unless authorized. Please observe all posted signage, barricades, and instructions from safety personnel.

Please avoid areas where dismantling activities are ongoing. Report any unusual dust emissions or safety concerns to the Institute administration or the UPLB Safety and Security Office (SSO).

Moreover, please note that the removal of the asbestos-containing materials (ACMs) is now nearing completion by the authorized contractor.

For your information, guidance, and strict compliance.
