βIt all started as a dreamβ
βIt all started as a dreamβ. This is what the humble owner and General Manager of PARPAD Builders, HERMES AQUINO PARAS, would tell you, when ask about the history of his slowly but surely growing company.
Started as a Civil Engineer trainee in one of the biggest construction firm in the country, right after he graduated from Holy Angel University with the Degree of Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Jay as his closest friends fondly call him, had shown great fervor or passion in his chosen career, grabbing all the opportunities he saw and had wasted no time to master his craft. This is no wonder why he gained the trust and respect of all the people he worked with and had established a remarkable performance in all his works. His shown dedication and absolute commitment to his profession, made him reached the peak of his employment and had managed to enjoy the position of Operations Manager, the highest position, an employee like him could ever dreamt of.
Putting up his own construction firm came to his mind, when a Japanese friend gave him an opportunity. Equipped with faith, great motivation and with a vision that he has a lot to share in the construction industry, knowing his own technical capabilities and the experience he earned through working with numerous foreign contractors for almost 20 years, Jay with the full support of his wife, had grabbed the chance and accepted the challenge, and together with his former deputy and good friend Rene Padilla, whom he encouraged to partner with him, PARPAD Builders was brought into being on December 05, 2007. The name Parpad is derived from combining the first two (2) syllables of the owner (PARas) and his friendβs (PADilla) family names, but after a month of operation, his partner had decided to leave the sole ownership to him and opted to continue his employment from a big construction company that time.
PARPAD Builders has began by getting subcontract works for labor components only in the Urgent Bridges Construction Projects for Rural Development-Package 1A of which five (5) bridges were awarded by its main Contractor, Toyo Const. Co. Ltd. Since then, it has continued to deliver works for its client with excellence.
