King's Court is switching to COREnergy.

We sat down with King's Development Inc. and the building's commercial tenants to walk through the switch.

We covered what changes for the building and what does not. We also unpacked how business owners can qualify to choose their own Retail Electricity Supplier (RES) under Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA), a route now open to more sites since the eligibility threshold dropped to 100 kW.

Thank you to KDI and to everyone who joined the conversation.

Twenty sites. One energy decision. COREnergy is now the Retail Electricity Supplier for Borromeo Motoring Group.

The agreement brings 20 of the group's Luzon dealership and automotive facilities into the competitive retail electricity market under the DOE's Retail Aggregation Program. It is the first phase of a broader move to strengthen energy management across a network representing Ford, Mitsubishi, Mazda, Honda, Suzuki, Hyundai, Yamaha, and other leading brands, where electricity runs everything from showrooms to service centers, from parts storage to back-office operations.

The partnership carries a longer history. The Garcia-Sarmiento family of Vivant and the Borromeos have grown alongside Cebu's business community across generations, and that relationship now takes commercial form.

Through the Power of Choice, companies with growing and distributed operations can take a more active role in managing electricity as a variable that shapes performance, not only a recurring cost.

What does a potential Super El Niño mean for Philippine businesses?

Last Friday, July 24, COREnergy had the privilege of participating in the Power Costs to Profits: Energy Solutions Forum organized by the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry, Inc. (FFCCCII).

As part of the forum, COREnergy President Francis Del Val delivered a presentation titled, "Is the Super El Niño a Risk to Philippine Businesses?"
Drawing from macroeconomic and energy market trends, the discussion explored how extreme weather patterns can influence electricity demand, power prices, and business operations — and why proactive energy planning is becoming increasingly important for organizations seeking to manage costs and strengthen resilience.

Thank you to FFCCCII for the opportunity to contribute to this timely conversation and engage with business leaders on the evolving energy landscape. COREnergy remains committed to helping businesses make informed energy decisions and navigate the future with confidence.

COREnergy has signed a two-year, 20-MW power supply agreement with FDC Misamis Power Corp., a Filinvest Group company.

The additional capacity strengthens COREnergy's supply portfolio and extends its reach to commercial and industrial customers outside Metro Manila who are eligible to choose their own electricity supplier under RCOA.

"This partnership with FDC Misamis adds meaningful capacity to our portfolio, giving us the flexibility to serve businesses beyond Metro Manila, with a stronger and more resilient supply portfolio," said Michael Lasam, AVP and Head of Commercial Operations and Strategy at COREnergy.

Behind every new supply deal is the same goal: giving more businesses control over where their power comes from.
