Two homegrown Cebuano companies have teamed up to power world-class Filipino craftsmanship.

Interior Crafts of the Islands, Inc., the creative force behind the globally recognized KENNETH COBONPUE design brand, has partnered with COREnergy to power its Cebu manufacturing workshop. This move was made possible by the Energy Regulatory Commission’s implementation of Phase 4 of the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) program in June 2026, which opened the competitive electricity market to businesses with energy demand between 100 kW and 499 kW.

For a premium furniture manufacturer, electricity is a critical production input required for specialized machinery, precision finishing, and strict quality control. By leveraging the expanded RCOA threshold to optimize one of its largest operating expenses, the design house can reinvest in continuous innovation, local artisans, and its global operations.

Through this partnership, COREnergy is helping a proudly Cebuano brand secure the reliable power it needs to continue bringing distinctly Filipino luxury design to the global stage.

COREnergy has signed a two-year retail electricity supply agreement with DEDON Manufacturing, Inc., the Cebu-based production arm of the global luxury outdoor furniture brand.

The deal covers 0.55 MW of contracted capacity and makes DEDON the first customer of COREnergy's Sunshine Plan, an electricity solution that pairs stable daytime rates backed by solar generation with flexible market pricing during off-peak hours.

For a manufacturer with predominantly daytime operations, from running precision equipment to hand-weaving DEDON's signature fiber, the plan offers a way to align electricity costs with how the business actually runs, while supporting its sustainability commitments.

DEDON has called Cebu home since 1994, producing handcrafted furniture for luxury residences, hotels, resorts, and hospitality destinations in more than 100 countries. The partnership marks another step in COREnergy's work with manufacturers whose operations are concentrated during the day.

Yesterday at New World Makati Hotel, COREnergy hosted "Unlocking the Power of Choice for Filipino Entrepreneurs," an ERC-led media roundtable and business engagement session on Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) and the Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).

Atty. Chiara Angela Blanco of the Energy Regulatory Commission set the tone with a clear, data-rich look at the new 100-kW threshold, a shift that opens the competitive retail market to more around 12,000 additional electricity consumers. As Chief of the ERC's Market Operations Service, Contestable Market Division, she gave the room a regulator's view of what this milestone change means on the ground.

Bringing the business perspective to the table was Villa Escudero Plantations and Resort, one of the country's most storied heritage estates and a COREnergy customer already putting The Power of Choice to work.
