Logistics Assistant
Role Description
The Logistics Assistant is responsible for maintaining the required level of efficiency or safety while handling the movement of goods and ensure that all documentation and relevant records are done and properly kept. Works with different shipping and cargo companies, freight forwarders and haulers to ensure all deliveries are done in the most cost effective and appropriate and timely manner including monitoring of efficiency of delivery from point of origin to its final destinations. Work is usually performed under general supervision and requires initiative while continuing to work within the defined Company’s Procurement policies and procedures.
Commercial Evaluation
Able to reduce hauling costs based on initial quotations;
Able to evaluate and negotiate hauling requirements, including the ability to negotiate for favorable terms and conditions;
Able to ensure compliance on supply and transport of regulated chemicals, like those used in explosive and illegal drugs, are cleared from Philippine National Police (PNP) and Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA); and submission of Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS), where applicable;
Business Enterprise
Able to interrelate specific logistics responsibility to other functional areas;
Able to network with other affiliated logistics department group and share information on haulers/forwarders capability, sources, and best practices.
Handling and Logistics Management
Able to review, evaluate and prepare Work Order for haulers/forwarders.
Able to check accuracy, validity and completeness of Work Order specifications;
Able to monitor the delivery schedule and the cost impact of non-delivery of supplies, materials and equipment.
Able to effectively discuss methods statement with haulers/forwarders and site personnel;
Able to monitor hauler/forwarder work progress report to recommend for payment of accomplished works.
Qualifications
With at least one (1) year working experience preferably in Logistics processes.
Graduate of any 4-year course
