After four months of intensive incubation, mentorship, and milestone-driven growth, Klimatech Innovative Solutions Inc. was proud to take the stage at the 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐁𝐈𝐆) 𝐏𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡 𝐃𝐚𝐲, the culminating event of the 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫 (𝐁𝐈𝐆) 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 of the Singapore Management University Institute of Innovation & Entrepreneurship (SMU IIE).

Representing Klimatech on stage were our 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. Arvs Gastardo, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐫, 𝐀𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐠𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐚, who presented our vision of accelerating climate resilience through innovative clean energy and circular economy solutions.

For us, this recognition validates Oyloop's mission of 𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙬𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙩𝙤 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙝. Through a structured collection, containment, transport, and recovery system for used cooking oil (UCO), Oyloop helps reduce environmental pollution, prevent improper disposal into waterways and landfills, and support the growth of circular economy and renewable energy initiatives in the Philippines.

What began as an idea to address a persistent waste problem has evolved into a platform that empowers households, businesses, and communities to participate in a more sustainable future. This award is a testament to the dedication of our team and the unwavering support of our partners, mentors, customers, and advocates who continue to believe in our vision.

Klimatech Innovative Solutions was honored to be among the 10 selected innovators participating in the 𝐄𝐔-𝐏𝐇 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐒𝐎𝟐 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬 𝐓𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝟏𝐀 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨 𝐃𝐚𝐲 and Learning Exchange, organized by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in partnership with the European Union, DENR, and DILG.

Representing Klimatech during the event, our CEO Joseph Valdez Jr., presented the company's circular economy and renewable energy solutions, while sharing experiences, insights, and progress from its implementation in Ormoc City. As one of the 10 selected innovators, Klimatech contributed to knowledge exchange and collaborative efforts aimed at advancing circular economy initiatives and sustainable local development.

During the event, we proudly showcased Vortex Wind Turbine, our innovative vertical wind turbine that transforms recycled plastic waste into renewable energy infrastructure. By converting plastic waste into clean energy solutions, VORTEX helps communities reduce pollution, strengthen climate resilience, support sustainable tourism, and accelerate the transition toward a circular economy.

We also introduced Oyloop, our circular economy platform that enables the collection and recovery of used cooking oil (UCO), preventing improper disposal while creating opportunities for biodiesel production, waste reduction, and green livelihoods. Through Oyloop, waste is transformed into valuable resources that generate both environmental and economic benefits for communities.

The Learning Exchange provided a valuable opportunity to connect with fellow innovators, partner LGUs, development organizations, and stakeholders, fostering collaboration and sharing best practices for building more inclusive, resilient, and sustainable local economies.

As part of our ongoing work under the 𝐄𝐔–𝐏𝐇 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐞, the Klimatech team conducted a series of stakeholder engagements in Ormoc City to advance project planning, strengthen local partnerships, and explore opportunities for the establishment of a proposed 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 in the city.

During the visit, we met with representatives from the City Government of Ormoc, barangays, educational institutions, local suppliers, property owners, and relevant government agencies, including DENR, to discuss regulatory compliance, business permitting requirements, potential deployment and manufacturing sites, local sourcing opportunities, workforce development, and community participation.

The consultations also focused on aligning our renewable energy and circular economy initiatives with Ormoc City's sustainability priorities while identifying ways to create meaningful environmental, social, and economic impact. Through these engagements, we sought support for our advocacy of promoting renewable energy adoption, waste reduction, circular economy practices, climate resilience, and the development of locally manufactured climate technologies.

A key component of the discussions was the planned manufacturing facility, which aims to support local economic development through the creation of green jobs, skills development opportunities, stronger local supply chains, and the production of innovative climate technologies that can serve communities across the Philippines and beyond.

Klimatech Innovative Solutions Inc. was honored to participate in the Local Circular Economy Action Team (LCEAT) Meeting held on May 18, 2026, at the Ormoc City Hall Multipurpose Hall.

The event brought together local government leaders, development partners, civil society organizations, and community stakeholders to advance discussions on circular economy initiatives and sustainable development opportunities in the City Government of Ormoc. During the meeting, City Mayor Lucy Torres Gomez highlighted the city's ongoing efforts to promote environmental stewardship, resource efficiency, and innovative governance practices that contribute to a greener and more resilient future.

As one of the innovators supported under the Circular Solutions Innovation Challenge, Klimatech had the opportunity to present its circular economy and renewable energy innovations, including solutions that transform plastic waste into value-added products that support climate resilience, resource recovery, and sustainable community development.

Before VORTEX became a climate technology platform recognized across local and international stages, it began with a simple but urgent problem:

Way back in 2021, Klimatech PH, formerly Dali Innovative Solutions, started developing what would eventually become the VORTEX Wind Turbine. The original vision was deeply rooted in the realities faced by Filipino fishermen — individuals who spend long hours at sea with limited or no access to dependable electricity for lighting, communication, navigation, and emergency needs.

Traditional energy systems were often impractical, expensive, or unreliable in harsh marine environments. Solar energy alone was not always sufficient, especially during storms, nighttime operations, or unpredictable weather conditions.

This challenge pushed our team to rethink how renewable energy should work for island nations like the Philippines.

As the technology evolved, our field studies and community engagements brought us to off-grid and coastal areas in Batangas, where we encountered another growing challenge — plastic waste accumulation along shorelines and coastal communities.

This inspired a deeper question:

“𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐢𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐩 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞?”

From this idea, the helical design of VORTEX was born.

Unlike conventional propeller-style wind turbines, the helical vertical-axis design was developed to better adapt to turbulent, multidirectional, and low-wind environments commonly experienced in coastal and urban communities. This update on the company’s progress was shared by Chief Operating Officer Arvs Gastardo during SusHi Tech Tokyo 2026, where Klimatech participated as one of the featured climate-tech startups in Asia.

The international feature highlights the growing potential of Filipino climate-tech innovation in renewable energy, disaster resilience, and circular economy solutions designed for vulnerable and developing communities.
