Project Update | OLEA Natural Wellness, San Lorenzo, Makati City

Design is the art of balancing and resolving constraints. In our latest commercial project, we designed a 55sqm naturopathic wellness clinic that combines space efficiency with aesthetics, aligning with the client's practical requirements.

Highlights:

- Structural Integration
Working with existing low beam layouts to maximize room heights and conceal engineering.
Introduced cost effective curved ceiling details in place of standard false ceilings to soften the structural lines and create a more organic flow throughout the space.

- Operational Practicality
Integrated air-transfer systems and minimalist indirect lighting to minimize equipment and utility costs, while creating a calm feel.

- Intentional Materiality
Specified sage green limewash and wood accents for an organic tree canopy-like feel.

- User-Centric
Wheelchair-accessible and Feng Shui-aligned.

By deeply understanding the site and listening intently to the client's needs, we ensured the OLEA Natural Wellness is as practical as it is aesthetic.

Project Update: One Antonio, Makati 🏗️

Our goal for this rental unit: Balance a clean aesthetic with a realistic budget.

The Strategy:

Japandi-Scandi Style: A functional mix that’s simple, durable, and tenant-ready.

Technical Fixes and Smart Materials: Hiding unsightly AC drain pipes and copper tubing with custom steel and PVC bulkheads.

Construction kicks off this month.
Looking forward to seeing this take shape.

At Ardana, one of our fave parts of the journey is the iteration process with our clients. ‘Aha’ moments often happen at this stage, where we’re able to clarify how close our vision matches that of our client’s. Sometimes, it’s as quick as three meetings, sometimes it can be more, and we utilize all platforms — online, face-to-face convos, digitally drawing thru our ipads, or good ol’ sketching.

We work through every project this way — present, listening, and fully attentive to what our clients are telling us, even when they are still finding the words for it. As our lead architect likes to emphasize, “every element, from the humble downspout to the faceted walls, was designed with intention and consideration. We aim to make the aesthetic and the functional coalesce into the dynamic space that represents who you are.”

📢 JOIN US: APPRENTICE ARCHITECT

We’re looking for an early-career architect to support design, documentation, and coordination across active projects. This role offers direct exposure to project delivery from drawings to site.

💻Work Status: Hybrid Remote
Primarily work-from-home, with scheduled site visits and coordination meetings as required.

✅ What You’ll Do:
• Support in preparation of architectural drawings (plans, sections, elevations, details)
• Support project management and coordination, documentation, and site visits
• Help develop construction documentation packages
• Coordinate drawings with engineers and other consultants

🔎What We’re Looking For:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture
• 0–2 years experience in architectural practice
• Competent in AutoCAD and SketchUp
• Basic knowledge of the Philippine Building Code and permitting process
• Keen interest in learning the ropes of professional architectural practice
