𝐈𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐀𝐝𝐔𝐍𝐄𝐒𝐓: 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

Adamson University, through the Adamson University Neo Science and Technology Incubation Center (AdUNEST), proudly welcomed representatives from the Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Regional Offices of NCR, Bicol, MIMAROPA, and CALABARZON for the "Benchmarking and Best Practice Meet" under the 1TBI Program.

The afternoon formally commenced with a warm welcome from Dr. Venusmar C. Quevedo, Vice President for Administrative Affairs, who emphasized the value of collaboration in advancing innovation and entrepreneurship across regions.

This was followed by a presentation from Engr. Ian Charl Nico V. Tubban, OIC-Director of AdUNEST, who shared the Center's journey—from the vision and dedication of its founding leaders to its continued growth as a catalyst for innovation and technopreneurship within Adamson University. He highlighted how the 𝐅𝐚𝐥𝐜𝐨𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐜𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 integrates education with real-world startup development, empowering students to transform innovative ideas into impactful ventures that address society's evolving challenges.

More importantly, Engr. Tubban underscored one of AdUNEST's defining best practices: anchoring innovation on Adamson University's Vincentian mission of service. Every startup, technology, and innovation nurtured by the Center is encouraged to create meaningful solutions that uplift the poor, empower the marginalized, and address the realities faced by underserved communities. This purpose-driven approach demonstrates that entrepreneurship is not measured solely by business success, but by the positive social impact it creates.

Engr. Tubban also presented AdUNEST's incubation services, startup support programs, and sustainability initiatives that continue to strengthen technopreneurship among students, faculty, and staff. Participants then toured AdUNEST's incubation facilities, co-working spaces, and startup ecosystem, gaining firsthand insights into the Center's venture development pipeline, operational model, and collaborative approach to innovation. These discussions reflected the Center's commitment to sharing replicable practices in incubation, sustainability, and ecosystem engagement that regional innovation stakeholders can adapt within their own communities.

More than a benchmarking activity, the visit reaffirmed that innovation thrives through collaboration. By bringing together higher education institutions, government agencies, local and international partners, and the broader startup ecosystem, we continue to build a stronger and more connected innovation landscape—one that empowers Filipino startups to create meaningful and lasting impact.

𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐓𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐬. 𝐅𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬. 𝐎𝐧𝐞 𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧—𝐭𝐨 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫.

Five student teams from the Adamson University Computer Science Department have officially secured their place as finalists in the Startup QC Student Business Competition – Cohort 3, proving that innovation begins with bold ideas and the courage to pursue them.

𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐀𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐬:

Watt-A-Watch – An IoT device that transforms ordinary appliances into smart ones, enabling real-time energy monitoring, remote control, and smarter electricity management.

Tokuen – A startup collaborating with InsightGenie to strengthen digital trust by providing user verification feedback and real-world data, while leveraging InsightGenie's software to verify user trustworthiness.

ChatShield AI – An AI-powered solution that assigns a live scam-risk score to every message, helping users identify fraudulent conversations before they become victims.

Verdalyx Technologies – A smart greenhouse platform that automates environmental monitoring and control, empowering Filipino farmers through data-driven agriculture.

MC4G – CodePet Learning – A gamified educational platform designed to improve programming proficiency among Computer Science students through interactive and engaging learning experiences.

The journey officially began during the Startup QC Cohort 3 Kickoff last July 2, where the finalists were welcomed into a community of aspiring innovators and future entrepreneurs. As the competition progresses, AdUNEST will continue to mentor and support these teams, equipping them with the guidance, networks, and entrepreneurial mindset needed to turn their ideas into sustainable ventures.

This is more than a competition—it's the beginning of building startups that create meaningful impact.

Strengthening the country's innovation ecosystem means empowering founders wherever they are. As part of this commitment, AdUNEST proudly served as a resource partner for Learning Session 11: Brand Development and Positioning of the ReSOLES TBI Cohort 2 Incubation Program, held on June 24, 2026, at the ReSOLES TBI Office, Marikina Polytechnic College.

Representing AdUNEST, Mr. Joseph Carlo B. Halili, Marketing and Partnerships Officer, guided participants in developing compelling brand identity and positioning their innovations to connect with the right markets. More than discussing branding strategies, the session emphasized that meaningful innovation begins with understanding the communities being served and communicating solutions with authenticity, purpose, and impact.

This collaboration reflects AdUNEST's continuing mission to cultivate a culture of technopreneurship rooted in Vincentian values—where innovation is driven not only by technology, but by service, collaboration, and a genuine desire to improve lives.

Last Friday, June 26, 2026, we gathered not just to sign but to lay down the foundation for the next generation of technopreneurs. Adamson University, through the Adamson University Neo Science and Technology Incubation Center (AdUNEST), officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Focal Labs, marking the start of a deeply collaborative journey.

Picture the synergy in the room: on one side, representing the soaring spirit and academic excellence of Adamson, were our University President, Fr. Daniel Franklin Pilario, CM, and AdUNEST TBI Head, Engr. Ian Charl Nico Tubban. On the other side, bringing a powerhouse of industry grit and scientific insight, were Focal Labs’ Chief Executive Officer, Mr. John Francis M. Bernardo, and Chief Science Officer, Ms. Christine Faith Germinal.

But this partnership isn't just about formal handshakes—it's about real, lasting impact. By bridging academic innovation with Focal Labs' industry edge, we’re completely redefining how we support our community. This means injecting industry-standard frameworks straight into our Falcon Incubation Program and giving our startup founders direct, next-level access to technical, market, and scientific guidance so they can scale much faster. Plus, we're focusing heavily on our own growth, equipping our AdUNEST members with the cutting-edge skills needed to nurture a truly world-class ecosystem right here on campus.
