This May 03, 2026, the UST Pax Romana – Engineering Unit embarks on a meaningful pilgrimage within the Diocese of Balanga, inviting participants to journey together in prayer, reflection, and renewal.

As we visit these sacred churches:
1. National Shrine and Parish of St. John Paul II
2. St. Dominic de Guzman Parish Church
3. Monte De Piedad Divine Mercy Shrine
4. Our Lady of The Pillar
5. Cathedral Shrine and Parish of St. Joseph
6. Minor Basilica of Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary
7. Saint Peter, Martyr of Verona Parish Church

We open our hearts to moments of silence, communal devotion, and faith-sharing that lead us closer to the Lord.

More than a physical journey, this pilgrimage is a sacred encounter. Rooted in the Dominican charism and guided by the spirit of Veritas, we walk as one Thomasian community, strengthening our faith through shared experiences and witness.

Grounded in the values of compassion, commitment, and competence, this journey reminds us that faith is not only professed but lived. Nurtured through devotion, unity, and openness to God’s grace. As we pause from the busyness of daily life, may we rediscover the beauty of pilgrimage and return renewed in spirit.

With the loving intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, may every step of this journey lead us closer to Christ.

APRIL 5, 2026 | EASTER SUNDAY

Alleluia! He is Risen! Today we celebrate the glorious Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, the victory of light over darkness and life over death. The empty tomb is the foundation of our faith and the source of our eternal hope. As we gather in joy, we are reminded that through His Resurrection, Christ has made all things new, inviting us to live as people of the Resurrection, filled with grace and purpose.

"He is not here; he has risen, just as he said. Come and see the place where he lay." - Matthew 28:6

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, today we rejoice in Your triumph over the grave.

Fill our hearts with the light of Your Resurrection, that we may cast aside the shadows of fear and doubt.

May the joy of this day transform our lives, inspiring us to share Your love and hope with a world in need of Your peace.

APRIL 4, 2026 | BLACK SATURDAY

Today we enter a time of profound stillness and waiting. Black Saturday is a day of transition, the world holds its breath at the tomb where Jesus lies in rest. It is a day that honors the "quiet" of faith, reminding us that even in moments of apparent silence and darkness, God is still at work. We wait in prayerful mourning, keeping watch for the light of the Resurrection that is soon to break through.

"Weeping may stay for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning." - Psalm 30:5

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, in the silence of this day, we remember Your descent into the depths for our sake.

Help us to trust in Your presence even when You seem silent, and to wait with patient hope during the "Saturdays" of our own lives.

May this time of reflection prepare our hearts to receive the joy of Your rising with renewed faith and wonder.

APRIL 3, 2026 | GOOD FRIDAY
Today we stand at the foot of the Cross, observing the solemn day of the Lord’s Passion. It is a day of silence, reflection, and deep gratitude as we contemplate the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In the darkness of the Crucifixion, we find the source of our salvation and the boundless mercy of a God who would lay down His life for His friends.

"But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed." — Isaiah 53:5

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, we gaze upon Your Cross and see the price of our redemption.

Forgive us for the times we have turned away, and draw us back to the shadow of Your saving love.

By Your holy Cross, You have redeemed the world; give us the strength to die to our selfishness so that we may truly live for You.

APRIL 2, 2026 | MAUNDY THURSDAY

Today we enter the Sacred Triduum, beginning with the commemoration of the Last Supper. On this holy night, Jesus gave us the gift of the Eucharist and modeled the "new commandment" of love through the washing of His disciples' feet. We are reminded that true greatness is found in service, and that Christ’s love is a bread broken for the life of the world.

Let us pray:

Lord Jesus, You became the servant of all to show us the depths of God’s love.
As we remember the institution of the Holy Eucharist, nourish our souls and strengthen our resolve to follow Your example.
Teach us to wash one another’s feet with hearts full of compassion, serving the humble and the forgotten in Your name.

MARCH 29, 2026 | PALM SUNDAY
Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, marking the beginning of Holy Week and commemorating Jesus’ triumphant entry into Jerusalem. As the crowds waved palm branches and shouted "Hosanna," they welcomed a King who came not in worldly power, but in profound humility. This day invites us to open the gates of our own hearts, welcoming Christ with joy while preparing to follow Him through the mystery of His passion, death, and resurrection.

Let us pray:
Lord Jesus, as we carry these palms, help us to welcome You into every part of our lives.
Grant us the grace to follow You faithfully, even when the path leads to the Cross.
May our shouts of "Hosanna" be reflected in lives of humble service and steadfast love for our neighbors.

Serving with faith and purpose. ✨

Last February 22, the UST Pax Romana – Engineering Unit spearheaded LIKAS: Lingkod Kabataan sa Katesismo at Villa Maria Integrated School in Porac, Pampanga, a community development initiative rooted in the teachings of Laudato Si’ and the advocacy of our Regent, Rev. Fr. Roberto L. Luanzon, Jr., O.P.

Pax Romana - Engineering Unit, along other engineering organizations held catechetical activities for the youth while promoting ecological awareness and care for our common home. In collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering, the Office of the Vice Rector for Finance, UST SIMBAHAYAN Community Development Office, Engineering Faculty Organization, and the UST Engineering Alumni Association, the initiative brought together various engineering organizations in service to the community. We extend our special thanks to OV, MEC, CHE, IEC, and EEC.

Through LIKAS, we continue our mission of forming young minds in faith while inspiring responsible stewardship of creation. 🌱🤍
