PUP Wired takes another step toward strengthening practical technical learning through the pilot sessions for 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗼𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 under the Technical Training Program (TTP).

Through these hands-on sessions, students explore appliance repair, electrical troubleshooting, and the fundamentals of motor rewinding, bringing classroom concepts closer to real-world applications while building practical knowledge in preparation for the challenges that El Niño may bring.

As TTP continues to expand, PUP Wired remains committed to equipping future engineers with practical skills and preparing them to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges beyond the classroom.

Through SIDLAK 2, our autonomous battery-electric vehicle, we continue to showcase Filipino student innovation in energy-conscious engineering and sustainable mobility.

The journey and learning continues, as PUP Wired’s TTP enters its second week. Trainees are ready to conquer new challenges to deepen their under and put into practice their growing knowledge.

Week 2 shifts the focus from theory to hands-on learning as our trainees dive into the practical side of electrical work. Through activities involving breadboards and wire splicing, they get to apply what they’ve learned, develop precision in every connection, and gain confidence in handling real-world electrical tasks. Each activity brings them closer to mastering the skills that power innovation.

Two weeks in, and the sparks are only getting brighter! Let’s keep pushing boundaries and staying wired as we continue this journey of growth and discovery.

On 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟱-𝟴, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, PUP Wired was invited by the Department of Energy to the 𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝗔𝗦𝗘𝗔𝗡 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺 at the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 (𝗣𝗜𝗖𝗖), where we had the opportunity to showcase 𝗦𝗜𝗗𝗟𝗔𝗞 𝗜𝗜 — our battery-electric autonomous car.

Being part of a forum that brings together conversations on the future of energy gave SIDLAK II a space beyond the university and into a broader discussion on mobility, innovation, and the role of emerging technologies in shaping a more sustainable future.

For us at PUP Wired, this invitation is more than an opportunity to present an invention. It is a reminder that student-led engineering can find its place in conversations that extend beyond the classroom, connecting Filipino ingenuity with industries, institutions, and opportunities beyond our campus.

On the night of 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟳, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲, the 𝗗𝗲𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 recognized 𝗣𝗨𝗣 𝗪𝗶𝗿𝗲𝗱, on behalf of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines (Official) as the recipient of the First 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 during the 𝗣𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀 at 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗼 𝗱𝗲𝗹 𝗚𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗼𝗻. Their presence represented the collective work of the students, partners, alumni, and supporters behind SIDLAK 2—the autonomous battery-electric vehicle that carried PUP Wired to the international stage in Poland.
