WHAT IS MEANT WITH PEAK/ MAXIMUM OUTPUT POWER AND RATED OUTPUT POWER IN GENERATOR SETS?
According to Google, PEAK POWER, also called MAXIMUM OUTPUTPOWER, refers to the maximum power value that the generator can output in a very short time (usually within 20 minutes). The RATED OUTPUT POWER is the continuous output power, which refers to the output power of the generator under the rated voltage and current.
Therefore, a generator should never be operated at its MAXIMUM power output for more than 30 minutes. RATED power is a more reliable measure of generator power. It is the power that a generator can produce for long periods of time. Typically the RATED power is 90% of the MAXIMUM power.
Hope this helps and enlightens. God bless everyone.
