Today, Manila HealthTek Inc. (MTek) proudly joined the University of the Philippines Diliman and the Natural Sciences Research Institute (NSRI) for the successful launch of the SAI.Kit (Sexual Assault Investigation Kit) at Miranda Hall, UP Diliman.
The highlight of todayโs landmark event was the official signing of the Commercial Licensing Agreement between MTek and UP Diliman. This partnership bridges groundbreaking academic research with industry expertise, ensuring that this vital forensic tool becomes accessible to the communities and agencies that need it most. Representing the signing parties as official signatories were Dr. Raul V. Destura, Founder & CEO of Manila HealthTek Inc., and Atty. Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan II, Chancellor of the University of the Philippines Diliman. Serving as esteemed witnesses to this historic agreement were Acd. Maria Corazon A. De Ungria, Ph.D., Head of the DNA Analysis Laboratory at NSRI; Elmer S. Estacio, Ph.D., Director of NSRI; Magdaleno R. Vasquez Jr., Dr.Eng., Director of TTBDO-OVCRD; and Lemuel G. Petronio, Senior Vice President for Administration of Manila HealthTek Inc.
We were deeply honored to be joined by brilliant minds and key figures, including Dr. Joel Joseph Marciano Jr., VP for Research and Innovation at UP. We also extend our earnest gratitude to UP President Atty. Angelo A. Jimenez and Dr. Bernadette J. Madrid, Executive Director of the Child Protection Network, for sending their inspiring video messages to mark the occasion.
The event was strongly supported by our key stakeholders and partners in government who graced us with their presence and insightful messages. Among them were Dr. Renato U. Solidum, Jr., Secretary of DOST, alongside esteemed representatives and leaders from the DOH, DOJ, and DILG.
