Sixty-five students from Bulacan State University – Sarmiento Campus visited RASLAG 1 and RASLAG 2 in Brgy. Suclaban, Mexico on February 20, 2025, for an immersive plant tour.

The visit provided valuable insights into real-world industry practices, workplace standards, and advanced technological applications, strengthening their academic foundation through firsthand exposure to renewable energy operations.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, this initiative supports Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education) by enhancing experiential learning, Sustainable Development Goal 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy) by promoting awareness of renewable power generation, and Sustainable Development Goal 13 (Climate Action) by encouraging future professionals to contribute to climate-resilient and sustainable energy solutions.

Pampanga-based Raslag Corp. is seeking further collaborations with Verdant Philippines Alpha Pte. Ltd. following the completion of their joint venture to acquire wind assets in Oriental Mindoro.

Robert Gerard Nepomuceno, Raslag president and chief executive officer (CEO), said the transaction, which closed Thursday, Feb. 12, gives Raslag a 60 percent stake in PHESI Holdings Corp., with Singapore-based Verdant holding the remaining 40 percent.

As part of RASLAG’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives, the company is glad to support Angeles City Science High School – Senior High School through its Work Immersion Program for Grade 12 STEM students, scheduled this January 2026. ⚡🎓

This initiative provides students with hands-on exposure that helps develop life and career skills, reinforcing classroom theories and performance tasks in line with DepEd Order No. 30, s. 2017. The program encourages learners to appreciate the application of their studies, enhance their skills, strengthen communication and human relations, and develop positive work habits and attitudes. 🌱⚙️

With several students aiming to pursue Engineering in college, this collaboration supports their early exposure to real-world learning beyond the classroom.

Raslag Corp. is positioning 2026 as a year for capital deployment as the solar developer ramps up spending to support its expansion into Nueva Ecija, aiming to hit a long-term capacity target of 1,000 megawatts by 2035.

The Pampanga-based renewable energy firm is currently developing a solar project in Liwayway, Nueva Ecija, which is slated to begin commercial operations next year. Robert Gerard Nepomuceno, Raslag president and chief executive officer, said in an interview on the sidelines of the Energyear Philippines 2026 conference that the facility is expected to generate at least 140 megawatts of direct current.

RASLAG welcomed around 40 participants from the Department of Environment and Natural Resources – Environmental Management Bureau (DENR-EMB), Region III for an educational plant tour at RASLAG 1 and 2, conducted in line with the National Climate Change Consciousness Week 2025 pursuant to Proclamation No. 1667, s. 2008, which declares November 18–22 of every year as “Global Warming and Climate Change Consciousness Week.”

The tour showcased RASLAG’s operational best practices, solar energy generation processes, and sustainability initiatives that support the country’s climate mitigation efforts. Guided by the expertise of the RASLAG team, participants learned about the company’s contribution to expanding clean and reliable renewable energy, its environmental management practices, and its engagement with local communities.

This activity underscores RASLAG’s commitment to promoting awareness, strengthening collaboration, and supporting collective action toward a more sustainable and climate-resilient Philippines.
