Motor Rewinding

Three phase asynchronous motor is most common used motor in the world. It has very good efficiency and low manufacture and maintain costs. Two main parts of motor are rotor and stator. Rotor is usually made as squirrel-cage, and it is inserted in stators hole. Stator is made out of iron core and winding.

Stator is used to generate magnetic field. 3 phases generates rotation magnetic field so we don't need capacitor on three phase motor. Rotation magnetic field "cut" squirrel-cage, where it induces voltage. Because cage is short-circuited, voltage generates flow of electric current. Current in magnetic field generates force.

Because magnetic field must rotate faster than rotor to induce voltage in rotor. That's why motor speed is a little bit less then magnetic field speed ((3000 rpm [Magnetic field] -- 2810 rpm [Electric motor])). That's why we call them Three phase.

The importance of recovery and reclamation:

Recycle or reclaim?

Reclaimed refrigerant is often mistakenly called recycled refrigerant. They sound similar, but in reality, they are vastly different. A correctly reclaimed refrigerant which is normally reprocessed by your supplier of refrigerants, will have the same specification as virgin refrigerant.

The recovery process:

Recovering refrigerant can be a lengthy procedure and there are various methods that can be utilized to improve the speed of recovery, including the push-pull method where the recovery unit “pulls” v***r from the recovery cylinder and produces high-pressure discharge gas that “pushes” liquid out of the system and back into the recovery cylinder. There are also specialist recovery units which can recover refrigerants quickly from systems with bigger volumes, particularly where the time to recover the refrigerant may be critical and installation shut down time-limited.

How does a Chiller, Cooling Tower and Air Handling Unit work together to provide a building air conditioning (HVAC)?

The main system components of the central cooling plant are the following:

Chiller

Air Handling Unit (AHU)

Cooling Tower

Pumps

The chiller will usually be located either in the basement or on the roof, depending on what type of chiller is used. Rooftop chillers are usually “Air-cooled” whereas basement chillers are usually “Water-cooled” but they both perform the same function which is to generate cold water for air conditioning by removing the unwanted heat from the building. The only difference is how the chiller discards the unwanted heat.

Air-cooled chillers will use fans to blow cool ambient air over their condenser to remove heat from the system, this type does not use a cooling tower. The water-cooled chiller has two large cylinders, one is called the ev***rator and the other is called the condenser.

The Importance Of Maintaining Your Cooling Tower Gearbox

The energy-efficient water cooling tower is a mainstay in the industry. This equipment has become far more efficient thanks to the widespread adoption of axial fans, which are more energy-efficient than traditional centrifugal fans. Water cooling towers also recycle most of their water, providing a constant source of the coolant. Water cooling towers, therefore, are energy-efficient, and cheap to operate and maintain. One of the most important cooling tower components to maintain is the gearbox.

The motors of cooling towers

Like any machine, cooling towers are only as reliable as the components within them. Cooling towers primarily rely on water to do heavy workloads. However, there are mechanical parts that drive the recirculation process as well. At the heart of the mechanical process is the motor. The motor powers the energy-efficient axial fans and is the most energy-demanding component, and the most critical, in the system. You should inspect your motors at least twice a year for rust, degradation, broken parts, and other issues.

Additionally, attached to the motor via a driveshaft is the gearbox. A gearbox is a collection of gears that transforms electrical energy into mechanical energy. You probably remember seeing primitive versions of gearboxes on the first steam engines in history books in school. The gearbox and the motor that drives your cooling tower are far more sophisticated and vital to efficient operations.
