Today, March 21 is INTERNATIONAL DAY of FOREST with the theme: FOREST & HEALTH highlighting the LINKS between Forest Conservation, Planetary Health and Human Public Health.
The MAKAKALIKASAN ALLIANCE through our FOREST GREEN ACADEMY commemorates the International Day or Forest for 2023 for calling on everyone who are able, willing and concern enough to ACT NOW!
We would like to introduce to all our ECO-COMMUNITY PROGRAM piloting some 13 GREEN COMMUNES all over the Philippines as an effective and pragmatic way to conserve forest while creating sustainable green communities with green socialized housing, promote linkages with green de-urbanization, climate change adaptation to respond to internal climate refugees within a sustainable forest community (terrestrial, mangroves/wetlands, urban, agroforest, etc).

We are still confirming partnership events for 2023 for the following other sites: a) Naujan Lake wetlands in Victoria, Oriental Mindoro, b) Green Social Housing in Tanza Cavite, c) Balanac River in Magdalena Laguna, d) a proposed agro forestry site in Tacloban City, e) an urban forest conservation project in Brgy Narra in Bayawan City, and f) reforestation site in Dumilanao, Zamboangad del Sur."
