๐๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐ฃ๐ข๐ง๐๐๐๐๐ง: Senior students from the BS Computer Science (BSCS) and BS Information Systems (BSIS) programs showcased excellence and innovation on February 26, securing multiple awards at the Software and Project Festival and the annual Research Colloquium.
During the Software and Project Festival, the ๐ง๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ต๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ธ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ teamโDeoneil Raven Bathan, Arvin Jay Agna, Francel Kaye Parma, Romnick Claveron, and Lawrence Colisโpresented "PillNOW: A CNN-YOLO and KNN-Based Computational Framework for Real-Time Pill Identification and Dosage Monitoring." The project, which uses advanced machine learning to help seniors manage medications more safely and independently, was awarded Best Social Impact Project.
Meanwhile, four teams competed in the annual Research Colloquium:
โข ๐๐ฟ๐ผ๐ฝ๐ ๐ โ "Implementing Deep Learning for Crop Pest and Disease Detection on a Mobile Platform" by Jesreel Amorganda, Divina Gracia Balana, and Caila Joy Labay โ claimed Best Paper. Team member Caila Joy Labay also received Best Presenter.
โข ๐๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐ผ๐บ๐ฑ๐ผ๐บ โ "GUIROMDOM: A Memory Recall Application Implementing VITS-Based MMS Model Fine-Tuned for Low-Resource Central Bikol Language" by Carlo John Gabing, Hazel Jesalva, Mark Angelo Notado, and Marinelle Savilla โ earned 2nd Best Paper.

๐๐ต๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป โ "LEXCHAIN: Security and Integrity Evaluation of Blockchain Technology for Legal Document Management" by Khana Coralde, Pamela Cado, Quiell Marzeth Gavis, and Gabriel Aรฑonuevo โ earned 3rd Best Paper.
โข ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐๐ต๐ง๐ฎ๐น๐ธ๐ โ "Predictive Modeling for Enhanced Biodegradable Waste Management" by Bea Chrizel De Guzman, Ma. Ana De La Cruz, Gino Legarto, and Nan Fritzie Santiago โ demonstrated a practical, data-driven approach to advancing sustainable waste management.
These achievements reflect the strong technical talent and real-world focus of the students, as well as the continued emphasis on preparing future IT leaders through meaningful and innovative projects.
