Before VORTEX became a climate technology platform recognized across local and international stages, it began with a simple but urgent problem:

Way back in 2021, Klimatech PH, formerly Dali Innovative Solutions, started developing what would eventually become the VORTEX Wind Turbine. The original vision was deeply rooted in the realities faced by Filipino fishermen โ individuals who spend long hours at sea with limited or no access to dependable electricity for lighting, communication, navigation, and emergency needs.
Traditional energy systems were often impractical, expensive, or unreliable in harsh marine environments. Solar energy alone was not always sufficient, especially during storms, nighttime operations, or unpredictable weather conditions.
This challenge pushed our team to rethink how renewable energy should work for island nations like the Philippines.
As the technology evolved, our field studies and community engagements brought us to off-grid and coastal areas in Batangas, where we encountered another growing challenge โ plastic waste accumulation along shorelines and coastal communities.
This inspired a deeper question:

From this idea, the helical design of VORTEX was born.
Unlike conventional propeller-style wind turbines, the helical vertical-axis design was developed to better adapt to turbulent, multidirectional, and low-wind environments commonly experienced in coastal and urban communities. Its structure also aims to improve stability under strong winds while maintaining functionality in environments where traditional turbines may struggle.
More importantly, Klimatech began exploring the use of recycled plastic waste โ particularly plastic materials commonly found in coastal areas โ as part of the turbine blade development and manufacturing process. By integrating circular economy principles into renewable energy innovation, VORTEX aims not only to generate clean energy, but also to help reduce plastic pollution and promote more sustainable material use.
More than just a wind turbine, VORTEX represents years of learning from real communities, real environmental challenges, and the growing need for decentralized and climate-resilient energy systems.
Today, VORTEX continues to evolve beyond renewable energy โ integrating sustainability, disaster resilience, circular economy concepts, and climate adaptation into one growing innovation platform for the future.
