Spreading joy through cleaner energy choices.

Jollibee Group’s Danao Commissary, its largest production facility in the Visayas-Mindanao region, now runs on 99% renewable energy.

Through First Gen Renewables’ geothermal power from EDC’s Bac-Man facilities, complemented by rooftop solar, the commissary strengthens its operations with dependable energy—reducing its carbon footprint, cutting greenhouse gas emissions by over 70%, and supporting more stable electricity costs amid fuel supply and price concerns.

Two Gold awards. One commitment to lasting impact.

Energy Development Corporation (EDC), a First Gen Group company, takes home two Gold awards at the Inquirer ESG Edge Impact Awards 2026, recognizing its work in expanding reliable renewable power and conserving some of the Philippines’ rarest native tree species.

The two winning entries were “Road to 50: The Compounding Value of Geo 24/7” under Renewable Energy and “A Journey from Species Rediscovery to Extinction Rescue” under Sustainable Ecosystems and Biodiversity Conservation. Together, they reflect EDC’s work in delivering clean, reliable power through geothermal energy and conserving threatened Philippine native tree species through its BINHI greening legacy program.

Manito’s power network gets a major upgrade.

A ₱29-million power line upgrade is underway in Manito, Albay, converting the existing single-phase line from Barangay Cawayan to Barangay It-Ba into a three-phase system.

Funded through the Department of Energy’s ER 1-94 host community benefits program and implemented through First Gen’s EDC, the project will help provide a more reliable energy supply for households, businesses, and public services in Manito.

The municipality is home to the 149-MW Palayan Bayan and Palayan Binary Geothermal Power Plants, part of the Bac-Man Geothermal Complex.

A stronger alliance is taking root for Mount Apo's forests.

Building on earlier restoration efforts, First Gen's EDC is working alongside government partners and the Manobo community to expand long-term restoration at the Langit-Langit Reforestation Site. This collaboration is transforming what began as individual tree-planting activities into a shared commitment to ecological stewardship.

Together, we're helping create a healthier, more resilient future for Mount Apo's forests, biodiversity, and the communities they sustain.

Success begins with being ready for what's next.

SIKAT scholars recently took part in a two-day Career Readiness Workshop in Negros Oriental last July 14-15, 2026, designed to help them prepare for the transition from the classroom to the workplace.

The workshop provided practical learning experiences that strengthened their professional skills and confidence as they begin their career journeys. As part of SIKAT’s holistic approach to education, the activity supports scholars beyond completing their studies by equipping them with the knowledge and tools needed to navigate opportunities ahead.

Through SIKAT, First Gen’s EDC continues to advance its commitment to education by equipping scholars with the skills and confidence they need as they begin their professional journeys.

Educational institutions are playing an increasingly important role in the country's energy transition.

LPU-Cavite has become the fourth campus in the Lyceum of the Philippines University network to source geothermal electricity from First Gen Renewables' Tongonan geothermal facilities in Leyte through the Department of Energy's Retail Aggregation Program (RAP).

The partnership demonstrates how institutions can support their sustainability goals by choosing reliable renewable energy—helping reduce carbon emissions while creating a lasting impact for future generations.

The Department of Energy inaugurated its Energy Museum on July 29, 2026, with President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. and DOE Secretary Sharon S. Garin leading the event. During the museum tour, they visited the First Gen Renewables Geothermal Pod, "Geoskwela," where they were welcomed by First Gen President and COO Francis Giles B. Puno and EDC’s ISS Head of Geosciences Dr. Loraine Pastoriza-Primaleon.

The First Gen Renewables "Geoskwela" Geothermal Pod is an experiental exhibit that showcases the science behind geothermal energy, how it is harnessed to generate clean and reliable electricity, and the Philippines’ leadership in geothermal development through its subsidiary, EDC. The exhibit also highlights First Gen’s role in advancing indigenous renewable energy and supporting the country’s energy security and decarbonization goals.

Congratulations to First Gen for a successful inauguration with DOE!

Where native trees thrive, biodiversity follows.

We're honored that BINHI: Mainstreaming Philippine Native Trees was recognized as a finalist at the LCF CSR Guild Awards.

By preserving and restoring Philippine native tree species—many of which are endangered—BINHI helps strengthen biodiversity and build more resilient ecosystems in the face of a changing climate.

Made possible together with our partner communities, BINHI helps restore ecosystems that sustain communities and wildlife alike.

Because every native tree protected helps strengthen the ecosystems that sustain us all.
