Freedom Finds Its Way
The waters of the Philippines have witnessed our nation's journey, from the arrival of Spanish expeditions on our shores to the rivers where Filipinos fought for freedom.
Rivers acted as obstacles and frontiers, becoming the site of pitched battles such as in Zapote, Cavite, Marilao in Bulacan, Dolores in Samar, and Malalag in Davao. Rivers became vital conduits for resources and as an alternative to the perils of traveling by land.
Like rivers carving their way through the landscape, the Filipino people persevered through challenges and forged their own course toward self-determination.
This Independence Day, we honor the resilience, bravery, and enduring spirit that continue to shape our nation.
Happy Independence day! ๐ต๐ญ
