"Time does not measure readiness; performance does."

We are proud to share this TEDx talk by Dr. Arvie Vitente, Deputy Editor of the Philippine Journal of Physical Therapy, on competency-based health care education and what it means for preparing future health professionals.

While time and experience are important, readiness in physical therapy education and clinical practice must also be demonstrated through safe, effective, and consistent performance at the appropriate level of supervision.

This raises an important question for our profession:

How can physical therapy educators and clinical instructors best determine when a learner is ready for the next level of responsibility?
