My take as the owner of DIKWIS Network and Internet Solutions and a BOD/member of Internet and Technology Association of the Philippines Incorporated (ITAP Inc.), my company and our organization support this move by the NTC to crackdown illegal and abusive internet service operators, especially here in Metro Manila where there is a rampant display of illegal and unsafe installation of cable wires and illegal attachments through electric poles and other unsafe DIY poles causing hazzards and too much congestion.
In addition, DIKWIS, as an individual VAS license holder, wants to reaffirm our commitment to upholding the highest standards of process and procedures regarding installation, compliance, and ethical behavior as part of the organization.
Moreover, ITAP, as a national organization does not condone the behavior of our fellow VAS license holders operating outside the jurisdiction of VAS permits issued to each of us by the NTC. This behavior does not only undermines the integrity of our organization, but also has the potential to harm the well-being and interests of our individual companies, employees, and clients. We want to make it abundantly clear that such illegal and unethical practices shall not be tolerated within our members.
And finally, DIKWIS and ITAP understand the importance of adhering to these regulations to ensure the safety, security, and privacy of our customers and their data. It is our responsibility to act ethically, transparently, and in the best interest of our clients and costumers, and we will continue to prioritize compliance with all regulations, rules and guidelines set forth under the regulatory of NTC.
THE country's cable operators called for an investigation into what they claim was the National Telecommunications Commission's (NTC) 'one day' approval and release of certificate of registration or license to disreputable independent internet providers.
