Project SINAG

Project SINAG, a research project under the Joint Research Project between the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) of the People’s Republic of China, officially ends today. 🎉

For the past two years, we have conducted 10 training workshops and 2 colloquiums, responded to 22 data requests, and supported 5 SHS, 16 BS, and 5 MS students. We have also contributed to the general body of knowledge through scientific publications, producing 9 international conference papers, 5 local conference papers, and 3 academic journal publications, which you can access here: https://www.sinag.nec.upd.edu.ph/publications.

We are truly grateful for the help and participation of our partners and stakeholders.

There are plenty of options when considering energy resources, but not all are helpful to our environment. Fossil fuels contribute to carbon dioxide and other greenhouse emissions. Compared with this, one can say that one of the better alternatives is opting for solar panels because they are both eco-friendly and sustainable. With that said, how eco-friendly are our solar panels?

1. Solar Panels help reduce air pollution
2. Solar Energy is a renewable source of energy
3. Solar Panels help slow down climate change
4. Solar Panels are cheap and cost-efficient
5. Solar Panels require minimal maintenance
6. Solar Panels help improve land use

Since solar energy is naturally renewable, it can meet our energy needs without having any negative environmental effects [1]. In addition, solar energy helps preserve depletable resources like coal and oil by generating electricity in remote locations devoid of fossil fuel infrastructure [2].
