CopPhil at PhilGEOS 2025 ๐
will be at 2025 on 24โ25 November at the GT-Toyota Asian Center Auditorium, University of the Philippines Diliman.
The Philippine Geomatics Symposium (PhilGEOS) is a biennial gathering of geomatics professionals, researchers, and students from around the world. Organised by the UP Department of Geodetic Engineering and the UP Training Center for Applied Geodesy and Photogrammetry, the event showcases the latest developments in remote sensing, GIS, and geospatial technology for national and local applications.

The opening day will feature a keynote address from Dr. Casper Fibaek, CopPhil Project Officer at the ESA - European Space Agency

Two dedicated sessions will highlight how CopPhil is advancing the use of Earth Observation data in the Philippines:
๐ฐ๏ธ 10:30 โ 12:30 PHST | "Building the Base: Establishing the CopPhil Mirror Site and the GATES Program":
A session by CopPhilโs Infrastructure team led by CloudFerro S.A., will highlight the progress of the Mirror Site: a key national facility which enables faster, more secure access to Copernicus data in the Philippines, demonstrating the long-term sustainability of EO applications.
The session will also introduce the Geospatial Analytics and Technology Solutions (GATES) Program of the Department of Science and Technology, which integrates the Departmentโs diverse datasets into a unified, AI-ready geospatial platform to support science-based planning, responsive governance, and data-driven innovation.
๐ป๏ธ 13:30 โ 15:30 PHST | "Unlocking the Power of Copernicus: Local Applications and Collaborative Opportunities through CopPhil":
This session will showcase how data supports applications in ground motion monitoring, land cover and crop mapping, and benthic habitat monitoring, with presentations from our partner agencies and stakeholders including the Philippine Space Agency, DOST Philippines, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS-DOST), Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR).
