THE ADVENT OF ACOUSTIC DETECTION BY ARTIFICAL INTELLIGENCE

RTSYS RUBHY is a proven powerful tool for monitoring the underwater noise, but how can it be enhanced to detect autonomously various sounds from different sources (human activity, underwater species, etc), and this without the need of a 24/7 analysis by a PAM operator behind a computer?

The automatic detection by RUBHYAI includes the ambient noise study, assessing the noise level in the relevant frequency bands and identifying the sources responsible for the noise (anthropogenic, meteorological, biological); the detection, classification and enumeration of animal sounds for cetaceans like odontocetes or mysticetes; and the assessment of the effects of noise on wildlife. Specifically talking about cetaceans, the algorithm can detect the presence of cetacean sounds in the hydrophone capture radius (~ 20 km for mysticetes, ~ 1.5 km for delphinid clicks, ~ 1 km for delphinid whistles). Four detectors can be applied: vocalization, upcall, whistles, and delphinid clicks.

RTSYS RESEA is a 4-input underwater acoustic recorder designed to enable PAM operators, Marine Mammal Observers (MMO) and Protected Species Observers (PSO) to implement powerful post-processing monitoring (up to 500 kHz bandwidth; over a 100 dB dynamic range).

RESEA is provided with RTSYS software and is compatible with other open-source software such as PamGuard®. Various hydrophones can be provided along with various options.

RESEA is also available in a transportable case version.

The Syscal Pro Switch is a compact and versatile all-in-one multi-node resistivity and induced polarization imaging system for environmental and engineering geophysical studies. The Syscal Pro gathers a 10 channel-receiver and a 250W, 2000Vpp internal transmitter which makes it the most powerful system of the Syscal range. OYO McSEIS-PS & Borehole Pick

McSEIS-PS is a portable and cost effective 8-channel seismic acquisition system that can be controlled with a standard notebook PC to acquired P and S wave velocity with 3C PS Logging, and for evaluation of shallow underground layered structure for engineering purpose. The system is really compact, light in weight to transport and do the job with a smaller 12VDC battery anywhere.

The Borehole Pick is used to measure the P wave and S wave velocities of the ground. It contains a 3-component geophone in which one component is for vertical and two components are for horizontal direction, and can be used even in a relatively small borehole (e.g. φ 56 mm) because of its compact design.
