Our Department Orientation for new BS GE students will be held on 𝟭𝟬 𝗝𝘂𝗹𝘆, 𝗙𝗿𝗶𝗱𝗮𝘆, 𝟴:𝟯𝟬 𝗔𝗠-𝟭𝟮 𝗣𝗠 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿, 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹, 𝗨𝗣 𝗗𝗶𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗮𝗻. The Department of Geodetic Engineering warmly invites everyone to the GE 200 Undergraduate Thesis Defense for Academic Year 2025–2026, happening on May 28 and 29, 2026, at the GE Theater, Melchor Hall.

This milestone event highlights the dedication, innovation, and hard work of BS Geodetic Engineering students as they present and defend the culmination of their undergraduate research journey. Our students will showcase the application of geodetic and geomatics engineering in addressing present-day challenges and advancing sustainable development. Their studies span various fields such as geospatial analysis, remote sensing, geodesy, environmental monitoring, and other emerging applications in the geospatial sciences.

Hilti will lead a presentation and hands-on training session featuring the recently donated PR 40 rotating lasers—an initiative that reflects the continuing partnership between Hilti and the University of the Philippines.

The session will familiarize students and faculty with the equipment’s capabilities, applications, and proper handling, with emphasis on its role in precision measurement, leveling, and modern construction workflows. By providing access to industry-grade instruments and guided hands-on experience, the activity exposes students to technologies currently used in professional practice.

This collaboration supports the department’s commitment to bridging academic instruction with real-world applications and contributes to preparing graduates for careers in surveying, construction, and related fields.
