If you're looking for a good beginner laptop, ito talaga 'yon. As of this moment, no other models from other brands can top what this laptop has to offer, for the same price ah.

I may have just found the best laptop you could get for only β‚±25,000 πŸ‘€

Not entry-level. All goodness.

Going back a bit, I've mentioned that I do not recommend laptops with i3 or Ryzen 3 CPUs for them not being upgradable, right?

πŸ‘‰πŸ» ALMOST ALL OF THEM ARE, especially the entry-level models ❌

This, though in the same price range. is an exception.

UNIT: ASUS ExpertBook B1 (Intel Core i3 13th gen)

βœ”οΈ Business-grade laptop, so guaranteed to skip the poor build quality of entry-level models.

βœ”οΈ UPGRADABLE, both RAM and SSD.

Though it runs on an i3, the fact that it is among the only upgradable ones in this price point, this is definitely a must-buy.

‼️ and on other brands, you can't find one like this, for the same price.

Upgradable, affordable. Full specs below πŸ‘‡

Pati ba pambili, sa akin dapat galing? 🀑

Gets ko β€˜to.

Di kasi porket naka-tipid KAYO ngayon eh naka-tipid kayo on the long run.

The longer you get to keep an item using on OPTIMAL RUNNING CONDITION, the more you'll get to save.

And on that rationale is where most of my decision-based contents lie upon.

This is what you should consider, hindi yung "lady-owned" label.

Masyadong nakakalalake 'yan, tol

This label assumes na kapag sinabing ganyan, pristine condition, maayos, makinis, walang issue, dahil babae ang may-ari, while in reality, there's NO CONCRETE BASIS TO THIS CONNOTATION.

🚨 HINDI PORKET "LADY-OWNED", AUTOMATIC NA MAAYOS ANG CONDITION NG ITEM.

That term, by itself, is just relying on the stereotype na basta babae ang may-ari ay maingat na agad, which is too vague to be a basis of assurance of the quality of the item.

Unless kung mache-check mo yung actual condition, with credible points of comparison, basing the unit on a gender-specified descriptor is a bad thing to see.

🚫 Personally, red flag sa akin yung ganito (check comments for sample). Hindi porket babae ang may-ari, naingatan na agad ang item (sorry girls, but we're just stating facts here hehe).

Now, where should you focus, as a smart gadget buyer?

βœ”οΈ processor and its generation (along with the other specs)
βœ”οΈ date of purchase (this would give you an estimate of how old a gadget is, along with the warranty program that it may come with; can be matched with the first point).
βœ”οΈ RAM and storage capacity, along with existing upgradabilities.
βœ”οΈ battery life (if you could have a proper gauge as to how long the battery last, much better)
βœ”οΈ repair history (well, medyo prone 'to sa lies).
βœ”οΈ signs of physical damage (cracks, loose-threaded screw heads, hinge creaks, weird sounds, and other visible damages and signs of damages.

πŸ“Œ Don't base your crucial purchases on stereotypes that are placed there to sugarcoat the listing. Focus on what matters: performance, and condition.

Di mo alam 'to?

‼️ One of the main reasons why laptops overheat is obstructed airflow.

While it's natural for laptops to accumulate dust and dirt sa mga inflow at exhaust nito, habits and environment din.

🚨 DIRTY WORKPLACE = SOURCE OF AIRFLOW OBSTRUCTION

Before we answer that, it should be known by everyone who owns a laptop na ang battery nito ang isa sa pinakaunang masisira dito, regardless of how well you take care of your device or even if you don't use it that often (kahit pa ipang-display mo lang 'yan).

May ilang factors: heat, charge cycles, voltage stress, at aging chemistry.

1️⃣ LI-ION BATTERIES NORMALLY WEAR OUT

Wag ka nang magulat, kapatid. Dahil ginagamit mo, natural na mag-charge at discharge 'yan, at ma-subject sa heat, which is what degrades the internal chemistry of these laptop's batteries over time.

Unavoidable.

2️⃣ HEAT IS THE BIGGEST ENEMY

Heat accelerates chemical degradation dramatically. So kung hindi mo kontrolado ang init ng panahon, pati na rin ang mga tasks na gagawin mo (say, kailangan mo talagang magbukas ng 3 tabs ng Chrome kahit na nag-ooverheat na ang laptop mo dito), then manage your thermals: proper laptop maintenance and provide sufficient airflow and cooling to it.

Bad charging habits do also contribute to this.

And yes, asahan mo na 'to dahil wear-and-tear item ito.

Para sa mga gustong mag-tablet as "alternative" for laptop, here's a tip πŸ‘‡

Para sa mga gustong mag-tablet as "alternative" for laptop, here's a tip πŸ‘‡

PRODUCTIVITY TIP: Get a external keyboard for your iPad πŸ’―

This is my daily-driver for years already, whenever I'm away from my workspace.

βœ”οΈ iPad Mini 6 + Goojodoq External Keyboard (which also acts as a hard case/shell)

While it's true that this don't magically turn tablets into full-blown laptops, this removes one of the biggest bottlenecks of tablet usage:

πŸ‘‰πŸ» Text input and workflow friction

Well, unless if you're always AFK πŸ˜…

1️⃣ Changes in Typing Speed and Accuracy

Though some users can get themselves accustomed to on-screen keyboard-typing, physical keyboard offers a lot:

* tactile feedback to help with accuracy
* full key spacing to aid with muscle memory
* less screen occlusion while typing

Physical keys let your brain work faster because your fingers already know where to go.

2️⃣ More Screen Space

Have you noticed how much screen space keyboards consume, especially when in landscape orientation? Yeah, a lot. Large screen space, so substantial, it could degrade usability involving text entry.

This tip then allows you to see the full screen, with more of the text space shown to allow easier editing and referencing.

Other tips involve better ergo, faster shortcut navigation, and access to certain commands on-screen keyboards can't.

βœ… This allows tablets to become closer to being viable for real work.

‼️ HOWEVER, this doesn't fully replace a laptop ah. Even with a keyboard, tablets may still lag far behind what laptops can offer.

πŸ“Œ Without a keyboad, many tablets are already productivity-capable. With a keyboardd, they become productivity-practical.

πŸ’¬ What is your mobile or "on-the-go" setup?
