In ELECTRONICS permitting (for projects regulated by the Professional Regulation Commission in the Philippines), the roles PECE Design Professional and PECE Supervisor on an Electronics Permit form refer to two different responsibilities held by a Professional Electronics Engineer (PECE).
✅PECE Design Professional
This PECE is responsible for the engineering design of the system.
Main responsibilities:
Prepare and sign/seal the electronics plans, diagrams, and specifications.
Ensure the design follows the Electronics Engineering Law of 2004 (Republic Act No. 9292), codes, and technical standards.
Calculate system requirements (e.g., telecom, structured cabling, broadcast, security systems, etc.).
Submit the design documents for permit approval.
In short: They create and take responsibility for the design.
✅PECE Supervisor
This PECE is responsible for the actual implementation and supervision of the installation.
Main responsibilities:
Oversee the installation and construction of the electronics systems.
Ensure the installation matches the approved design plans.
Supervise technicians and installers (such as ECEs and ECTs).
Verify testing, commissioning, and compliance before operation.
In short: They oversee the on-site work and ensure the design is properly executed.
