CIDG’s CRACKDOWN YIELDS PhP 6.5 MILLION WORTH OF ALLEGED ILLEGAL LPG PRODUCTS IN ANGELES CITY, PAMPANGA
In line with the three key pillars of the PNP Chief, POLICE GENERAL NICOLAS D TORRE III, particularly the swift and responsive public service, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) intensified its operations against all illegal activities nationwide.
On June 17, 2025, the CIDG Regional Field Unit 3- Special Operations Team and CIDG Angeles City Field Unit together with representative from LPGMA, Republic Gas Corp. (REGASCO), South Pacific Incorporated (SPI) conducted law enforcement operation at CMQ Refilling Plant, Brgy. Cuayan, Angeles City, Pampanga that resulted in the arrest of two suspects “Anthony” and “Ruel” and confiscation of PhP 6.5 million worth of alleged illegal liquified petroleum gas (LPG) products.

stated that the arrested suspects allegedly refilling REGASCO liquified petroleum gas (LPG) products without the owner's authority and permission. Furthermore, the suspects allegedly repainted the tanks covering the REGASCO markings before selling the refilled LPG.
The authorities seized an estimated PhP 6,500,000.00 worth of evidence, including LPG storage tank, lorry tank, weighing scales, refilling equipment, filled and empty LPG cylinders, and sales receipts.
The arrested suspects were charged before the National Prosecution Service with violations of Republic Act 623 as amended by Republic Act 5700 (An Act to Regulate the Use of Duly Stamped or Marked Bottles, Boxes, Casks, Kegs, Barrels and Other Similar Containers); Violations of Sec. 155 (Trademark Infringement) and Sec. 168 (Unfair Competition) of Republic Act 8293 (Intellectual Property Code of the Phils.)
