Citicore, through its pioneering AgroSolar Initiative, is proud to support the DOE and integrating agriculture in solar.

Since implementing the first Agrivoltaics of its kind in the Philippines in 2021, we've harvested more than 15,000 kilograms of crops.

𝐃𝐎𝐄, 𝐃𝐀 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐄𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫

The Department of Energy (DOE) Undersecretary Rowena Cristina L. Guevara and the Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Roger V. Navarro, together with TransCo President Fortunato “Atoy” C. Leynes, met on 13 May 2026 to advance a landmark collaboration integrating 𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐲 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐚𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫.

The agencies discussed the development of a specialized Green Energy Auction (GEA) program focused on Agrisolar, Floating Solar, and Solar-on-Stilts technologies, which enable the simultaneous production of food and energy. The meeting also explored the use of transmission lines near underutilized fishponds to support grid connectivity, and resulted in the creation of a Technical Working Group (TWG) to prepare the necessary instruments for the auction before year-end.

Beyond solar, the partnership also covers a pilot project using biomass reactors to convert livestock manure into fertilizer and energy, as well as the proposed amendment of Joint Administrative Order (JAO) 2008-1 to align policy with current developments in renewable energy and agriculture.

This inter-agency initiative underscores the shared goal of strengthening both energy security and food security for the Filipino people.
