Project Plan: Shredding & Repurposing Construction Waste
Let's make 2026 the year of smart, sustainable building practices. Our goal is simple:
Problem:
Construction sites generate tons of waste
plastics, cement bags, scrap wood, PVC pipes that often end up in landfills. This harms the environment and wastes materials that could still be useful.
Our Goal:
Turn construction waste into reusable materials, reduce landfill contributions, and create a sustainable model that other contractors can follow. ♻️
How We’ll Do It:
Collection & Sorting – Gather waste materials from ongoing sites and separate by type (plastics, wood, metals, packaging).
Shredding – Shred plastics and wood scraps to prepare for reuse.
Repurposing – Transform shredded waste into materials for:
Temporary site pathways
Landscaping fillers
Creative construction solutions
Pilot Implementation – Start with 1 site to test feasibility, measure waste reduction, and refine the process.
Impact Measurement – Track:
% of waste diverted from landfill
kg of material recycled
cost savings & potential job creation
Future Scaling – Expand to more sites and share the model with other contractors and communities.
